I am all over this as well Hoff. His form has been franked all over the shop and he is ultra consistent. Long Run apart the Gold Cup Division is clearly wide open. Let's ride this fella all the way to March folks!! :)

I don't get why Jessies Dream is nearly twice the price of Bostons Angel when there was a neck in it, and pretty much more than twice the price of Quito de la Roque.
Probably only just outstayed by Bostons Angel, but they went a quick pace and those two kicked for home quite early.
I think people have forgotten about this fella; cruised round, with probably only Quel Esprit going better. Not saying he'll win the Gold Cup, but I'd rather have a few quid on him at 40/1 than the other two at 16/1 and 25/1.

Agree re Jessies, and all the placed RSA horses imo have chances in next years Gold Cup. Long Run aside their aint much else in their way!! TFRupert,MDH And Quel Esprit are all interesting as well. What else is there?? DHarry-not a GC horse Non stayers like the Hobbs horses and Master Minded. Weapons out for season.

bostons is a SERIOUS player, ignore at your peril.
he is a sound horse(cant say the same for other runners)
Irish due a win in the gold cup. last one was war of attrition i believe if my memory serves me correctly

modest handicapper??? well, i suppose you are entitled to your views.
i think this is a battle hardened horse.always stays on. people saying he was idling in front in the rsa.
people said that about sizing europe winning the arkle. well, he wasnt idling when he went on to roust his rivals in the queen mother.
i believe bostons can put it up to long run, he is the only horse(AT THIS STAGE) who i would take long run on with

Already proved he is the best 3m novice from last season. Very interesting to see how far he can go,and i am prety sure he will be a lot better than a bog standard handicapper, which quiet frankly is a laughable comment. I suspect though that Formman is on a wind up. His current price is value imo,he is a horse that hates to be headed and is as gutsy as they come.Sure he may not prove quiet up to it,but no way would i dismiss him,and quiet happy to have him on my side.

Although I've said above that I think Jessies Dream is value at 40, I do agree that Bostons Angel did idle in front, and the distance of a neck probably did flatter Jessies Dream slightly.

Never heard of this Boston thing, has he won a race yet?
Anyway, when is your new purchase running budd? read on another thread that you bought a chaser for this season called 'budd n tonic' and that it could go right to the top,

Alternative view - The Sunalliance was a moderate renewal and the first 4 and Quel Esprit (who would have probably been thereabouts) all need to improve a great deal to win a Gold Cup. Maybe one of the bunch will make the leap but for me they have loads to find with Long Run. Wishfull Thinking (despite his Jewson defeat, kicked for home too soon) is a better horse than anything that ran in the RSA to my way of thinking.

But will Wishful thinking stay 3m2,the RSA horses will i would think. And they all should improve from their novice season, how much is of course open to question, but aside from Long Run i dont see alot else for them to contend with.

I concur that he is not guaranteed to stay. If he does I think he is the only horse to trouble Long Run. The thing that puts me off antepost is that the stable has the option of the Ryanair, a race I would expect him to win, soundness permitting.

He's a really smart chaser and his current handicap mark is beggingg to be exploited but I doubt he stays 3 miles well enough to win a Gold Cup over an extra 2 furlongs. I'd be really interested to back him in the Paddy Power if one of the 160 plus horses runs and his ideal race at the festival would be the Ryanair for me. Twice outstayed by Boston's Angel and his Grade 1 wining form is over 2 1/2 miles in Ireland.

Looking at last years RSA, surely the value lies with Magnanimity. Have backed him at 5 times the price of Bostons and that seems value to me for a length beating. Made up a lot of ground and the extra furlong can only help. Take another look at the RSA!

Last years Liverpool Nov Chase def looks better than the RSA. Can't take too literal but Quito's won, now Golan Way and Sarando. Who knows where Sarando would have finished in Hennessy if he'd stood up?
Last years RSA dead in the water.

Cannot belive that is Bostons running, jockey was at him from very early in the race.Nothing like his jumping of last season and did not travel at all.Only thing he did do was repond and fight, like he does, but no way is that as good as he is,no way. Quito, who ties in with the RSA horses, and Quel Esprit have both won this season, and Jessies Dream and Magnaminity have yet to run.Have not given up on the RSA yet.

Put it this way,had Bostons ran like that in the RSA he would have been beat a lot more than today. He was running ok when he fell at Down Royal, reckon theres something amiss with him,has to be,that was not good at all today.

And so it goes on... the 2010-11 novies keep getting battered. Wishful Thinking today - and I think he was the highest rated of all last season's novices over any trip.
