Had a decent performance last year, but want to improve to win the mini league with my mates!
This year I am thinking
1. Big Bucks - mop up Grade 1 staying hurdles and World Hurdle 2. Hurricane Fly - Champion Hurdle, and Grade 1's in Ireland or England 3. Peddlers Cross - my Arkle horse 4. Realt Dubh - can win over 2m/2m4 in Ireland, and possibly Ryanair 5. Master Minded - not sure about King George or Gold Cup, but leading player over 2m4 in England 6. Long Run - obvious contender for King George and Gold Cup 7. Mon Parrain - Paddy Power Gold Cup, Ryanair, Gold Cup all possibilities 8. Wishful Thinking - Good enough for Grade 1 and Grade 2's, but can also lump top weight around 9. Weapons Amnesty - for me, has a good chance in the Gold Cup and a nice weight in the Lexus
Struggling with the last one. Haven't got an out and out 2 mile chaser, an RSA horse and a B0ylesp0rts horse.
I like Bobs Worth for the RSA, and I suppose Realt Dubh could possibly go down the 2mile route. However, I'm leaning towards Flat Out for 2m races in Ireland, and then over for the Champion Chase. Riverside Theatre is also one on my maybe list, along with Oscars Well.
might give big bucks a miss .8 out of 10 will have him that puts me off may only run once before subs are in so can stick him in then .chance that you could put in a p power horse and get 50 points
h fly is a must with long run .was not happy with grand crus jumping in france going to miss him out to

Mon Perrain is the best jumper of a fence I have ever seen in real life bud. Having said that he is probably over-rated on what he has achieved so far.

When does the list turn up online, I've already made a shortlist but wanted to trawl the list in case I've missed any horses I fancy.
I seem to remember it had to be entered pre Paddy Power Gold Cup last year.

Reve - Quevega doesn't make much sense at this stage as will only run once within the confines of the competition i.e. at Cheltenham, so will pick up max 25 points. You'll need a minimum 70+ points per horse to have a chance of winning.

binocular....with all the decent 2 milers from last year going chasing...apart from spirit son i suppose.....if he can get his act together...races like the fighting fifth and christmas hurdle are there for the taking...aren't they?...or will the likes of oscars well invade our shores?

If we're talking about Ten to Follow value though, your horse needn't win the Champion Hurdle to score well in the competition, as there are other Grade 2 and Grade 1 hurdles where horses like Zarkander may be able to score well.

that 's what brought me back to binocular....won't beat hf but fighting fifth..christmas hurdle....the oppsition this side of the irish water is miles weaker than last year.

Not sure about Binocular....very classy if putting it all in, but starting to become a little inconsistent now. Can run brilliantly, then poorly, so not sure what to think with regards to the TTF comp.

no...i'm going to have to stick binocular in my list and hope that we don't have the fiasco we did last year...henderson reports that he looks in serious good order....and as i say with a lot of the opposition going chasing...he would take some beating in the ff and the christmas hurdle with whats left..imo.

Like the idea / method as it makes sense and it's one I was following before stumbling on that website. I made a few suggestions in the past too.
What I don't like about that site though, is that they claim that their lists are good enough to be winning the comp. Effectively, what they're doing is taking the top 10 scorers from their pool of 32 horses, and assuming that through their perming, they'd manage to get all of them in the same list together.
If I did the same, I'd have won the competition ten times over.

i like reading the updates as they go along....don't really get into the perms as i only do 1 or 2 lines anyhow.....it's the last time they are doing it he says this time though...free anyhow.

Yes, it's a good resource for people new to the comp, don't get me wrong, but they just stop short of claiming that they would have won the competition. In reality, many seasoned Ten to Followers are able to come up with a shortlist of high scoring horses, then RETROSPECTIVELY combine the highest scoring of those horses into a 'with hindsight' winning list.

see what you mean....to cover what they're saying before the comp....how many 10'folds in 32 horses lol....you'd still be losing money , even if you won the bloody thing.

Yeah, I think I need a 2 mile hurdler for England. I thought the Fly might have come over here for the Fighting Fifth and Christmas Hurdle, but saw Mullins said that they'd stick to the same route as last year.
Gutted to hear about Weapons Amnesty – was on at 33’s for the Gold Cup. Will have to decide on an Irish 3 mile chaser for Lexus, Guiness Gold Cup and possibly Hennesy. Will either be Jessies Dream, Bostons Angel or Quito de la Roque.
Thinking of a few subs from the original list: > Noble Prince in for Realt Dubh > Bobs Worth in for Wishul Thinking > Spirit Son is the extra one for the 2 mile English hurdles > Irish 3 mile chaser in for Weapons Amnesty
So the final list will probably be 1. Big Bucks 2. Hurricane Fly 3. Peddlers Cross 4. Noble Prince 5. Master Minded 6. Long Run 7. Mon Parrain 8. Bobs Worth 9. Irish 3 mile Chaser 10. Spirit Son
Still need an out and out 2 mile chaser, but looks a very weak division, and can see them beating each other all year. Finians' and Ghizao look just short of top class to me, I have doubts over Sizing, Captain Chris is an unknown trip wise and Big Zeb is getting on - can't decide between the five of them. I like Flat Out, but he's too much of a risk at this stage

3 mile in soft ground lexus and hennessy has to be pandorama for me....slightly worried that meade might take it ultra easy with him but with his conditions i couldn't put anything in front of him over there.
