I've ordered it from Amazon, always a cracking read; just a shame the prices have always gone on his tips from those who have hard worker postmen than me

blue bird if you order it direct from him you get it before amazon from memory. That way the author keeps all the proceededs.
ftm what you got for the novice chases this season, I'm really keen on seeing if Cross Kennon goes over fences also wonder if Jetnova will be over fences this season.

I've ordered it on Amazon as well, and the annoying thing is that the original estimated delivery date was 3/9, the same as when Mark was supposed to be mailing it out. However, since the delay there's no update on when to expect it, and all of you who were clever enough to get it straight from Mark are reaping the rewards.
It best arrive before my holiday or there'll be hell to pay!

He's obviously delayed releasing it to Amazon etc so those who ordered it directly can benefit from getting better odds on antepost bets etc which is fair enough. However it would have been nice if this was reflected on the release date at the time of ordering

went into wh smith at lunchtime ...they still had 4 copies of last year's on the shelf. i will buy the new one though . must have something to consider before the season starts proper . the timeform annual last year came out too late and it's not worth the money now, especially if you are having to read 500 pages in 2 nights before the paddy power .

Still waiting as well despite an e-mail from the RP saying it was posted last Weds (it does also say it may take 10 days), I suppose I'm a little impatient but 10 days seems a long time

It's the same with Amazon. Thought there might be a week delay between Mark releasing it through his site and then sending it to other dispatchere, but this is taking the p*ss.
Has anyone gone to WHSmtith's and bought it yet? Tried there and Waterstone's the other day, but all I found were copies of the 2009/10 edition. May try again today if needs be. I'm getting tired of waiting!

If it is the case that he's prioritising those who ordered direct fine, but the release date on the site should reflect this
I'm based in Ireland so I can't send a sterling cheque & MH doesn't accept credit cards

My book came today from racing post which is good. Feel sorry for those who have paid and still not got their books it's a pretty poor service. It's the first time I've bought the book but it seems very difficult to get hold of. Not sure why he doesn't set up his website to accept online orders.

Yer thats fine Howdi, the point we are making is that other sites shouldn't advertise as getting it on a certain date if they are not actually releasing it until a month after that date

Thursday 6th October 2011 I will be selling copies of One Jump Ahead at Carlisle tomorrow - the racing at the Cumbrian venue looks terrific with a mouth watering novice chase and a fascinating bumper amongst others.
We have received another order from WH Smith and Gardners (who supply Amazon) and these will be going out shortly. I spent an enjoyable day at Ludlow yesterday. While the racing wasn't necessarily of a high standard, it was great to be jump racing again and I would thoroughly recommend a visit to the Shropshire track. It generally attracts 'an old fashioned' clientele and is an extremely friendly track. Admittedly, it isn't the most accessible racecourse (the A49 must be one of the worst roads in the country) but it is well worth a try if you haven't been before.
Castletown Bridge, highlighted in Bromley's Best Buys in OJA, made an impressive Rules debut at Worcester. Trained by the in-form Charlie Longsdon, the former Irish pointer was the subject of strong support throughout the day and his supporters never had an anxious moment in the concluding bumper. An eleven lengths winner, he looks above average and it will be interesting to see if he is aimed at the Listed bumper at Cheltenham's Paddy Power meeting.

Mine eventually arrived (after a few complaints) from The Book Depository.
As ever, a great read, but the old 'logistics' need to be reassessed next term IMO

Got the RP guide to the jumps book last week, handy for filling in your top ten to follow entry but otherwise Howards book is 100x better. Now just awaiting Marten Julians Dark Horses book to complete the set

Selected Noble Alan and Great Endeavour along with Third Intention and Abergavenny. A winner at 12s and a 28/1 shot placed.. Unlucky not to collect with the other 2 as well.. Well done

Mark "Howdi", author of the excellent One Jump Ahead publication, listed The Last Night among his top 40 prospects for the 2011/2012 campaign. As stated in the essay on the French-bred, an unraced horse rarely gains an entry in this list.
He gave The Last Night the 'thumbs up' in a ten to follow for Britain, in the Irish Field back in October too.
There he commented: "Even though she equalled her best ever total of 30 winners last season, Hampshire-based Emma Lavelle deserves a change of fortune. Her Cheltenham Festival winner Crack Away Jack was transferred to Paul Nicholls, Tocca Ferro incurred an injury on the eve of the Totesport Trophy in February and, most recently, it was announced Court In Motion will miss the whole of this season due to a tendon strain.
"On a positive note, Cottage Stables still houses some very promising youngsters and it is rumoured the unraced The Last Night is a possible star in the making. A full-brother to the aforementioned Tocca Ferro, he was bought for €46,000 at the Arqana Sale in France during the summer of 2010 and has been given time to mature since.
"Most impressive in a racecourse gallop at Newbury last spring, The Last Night will go straight over hurdles and is a name we are going to hear a lot more about in the coming seasons if the reports are correct."
Today The Last Night goes in the finale at Huntingdon, the Connolly's Red Mills Grocare Balancer Novices' Hurdle. Jack Doyle takes the ride on the five-year-old.
John Ferguson's Cry Of Freedom won over the course and distance on his penultimate start before being badly hampered and unseating early on at Catterick recently. He is sure to be one of the leading fancies here.
Ile De Re is forecast favourite for Ian Williams and Harry Skelton. Favoured Nation for J P McManus, Jonjo O'Neill and Tony McCoy won a bumper at Folkestone in November and this son of Milan is also of interest.
