Captain Chris - I never thought that he would turn around the 10 length beating by Ghizao, and not for one moment did I think he would be good enough to win an Arkle.
Sizing Europe - After his season of running over various trips, and being shorter in the betting for the Ryanair I was really surprised that Big Zeb or Master Minded didn't win the Queen Mum
Al Ferof - I thought he was far too short in the betting at 10/1. I thought that the Neptune would have been his race and would get done for toe by some of his rivals. This run makes me take more notice of Prince of Pirates wherever he runs next after their last race
Denman - I was convinced Kauto would beat Denman in a match bet. His performance blew me away on ground that was far too quick.
Rubi Light - I backed him as a fun bet because of his excellent run ahead of Roberto Goldback in Ireland. I though he ran a terrific race and would have really put it up to Albertas if he didn't make a serious mistake 3 out
Bostons Angel - If Time for Rupert wasn't to win I thought there were others in the line up that had a better chance than Bostons Angel. Quel Esprit was running a huge race but needs to sort his jumping out; the new Zaarito?

Radium ran a massive race for the second biggest outsider in the race (I was on at 40's)
Captain Chris certainly never suprised me but would have had I not watched his last race before the festival when I thought he looked really good in comparison to his previous runs.
That aside Sizing Europe.
Campaigned wrong for a start, returned from Kempton a sick horse, has been known to find nothing in the latter stages of his races, which would now appear to have something to do with when he injured his back.
Horse blew me away the way he left Big Zeb for dead and flew up the hill. Best performance of the meeting in my book.

Denman surprised me the most. Didnt think he had that in him. He is a real champ.

Must admit I was to a certain extent but he did the same when he came back from set back caused by that minor heart ailment he had.
Just never thought he could do it again but PN obviously had the right idea taking him their fresh.
Did I read somewhere he might be going to Puchestowns? Kinda weird thing to do if he needs to be fresh to be seen at his best.

Denman didn't surprise me tbh when you compare his run in this seasons Hennessy to last season off a higher mark.
Denman is by Presenting, so the assumption about ground being to quick is possibly misplaced. There were several horses in the race who found the ground to quick, IC,Pando, but they finished well beaten.. Denman acted fine on it from what I could see.
