Deffo agree with Mr O'Connors two winners. Conor O'Farrell on Buena Vista was a tremendous judge of pace and front running tactics. Ruby on Al Ferof and Final Approach, couldn't see them getting up.

I know it didn't win but i thought Sam Thomas gave Denman a great ride ( and no i didn't back it)
S.Clements gave Oiseau de Nuit a good ride for an inexperienced rider.
Report sageform March 18, 2011 8:19 PM GMT
Have to agree about Mr Clements as I backed Oiseau de Nuit! Ruby on Al Ferof and Final Approach was awesome, Kieran Burke is not a top rider and never will be but did nothing wrong on Holmwood Legend and performed miracles to finish second on Sparkys Choice.
Report BonVivvy March 18, 2011 8:38 PM GMT
Ruby on Al Ferof ,Mccoy on noble both stand out and Sam Thomas deserves a big mention for his ride on Denman, very very well judged on ground always too quick for him.
Report Paddy Hair March 18, 2011 10:35 PM GMT
I love to see the so called lesser riders get a winner, Ruby, AP,Barry,Davy Russell and Paul Carberry all have ridden plenty of Cheltenham winners. The sheer joy in their faces is clear to see, its like they had scored the winner in the FA cup final. So well done to D.Jacobs,S.Clements,K.Burke, C O Farrell and E.Mullins who won't get a mention most weeks. Well maybe D.Jacobs will as he is a jockey going places,
Report festivalfanatic March 18, 2011 11:13 PM GMT
AP on Albertas Run. I don't believe anyone else would have won on him.
Report willie the milk March 19, 2011 11:17 AM GMT
Conor O'Farrell on Buena Vista. Superb ride. Had it been AP or Ruby they would have spouting all the superlatives.
Report red and white March 19, 2011 1:58 PM GMT
Choc on Bensalem - patient ride then strong in the finish, and Davy Russell for getting First Lieutenant home in front.

Report dermo79 March 21, 2011 11:01 PM GMT
Ruby on Final Approach, how he got that up to win is beyond me..few other jocks would have won on that
Report buddeliea March 22, 2011 7:46 AM GMT
2 not been mentioned are Robbie Power on Bostons Angel, and Graham Lee on Divers-great rides.
Report grade 1 March 22, 2011 11:26 AM GMT
Hemsby's list is a good one.

I also thought the Noble Prince ride was excellent if not obvious. AP got the horse in a nice rhythm, went shortest route and produced at the correct time. A lot more subtle than he is given credit for.
Report alexmillwall March 22, 2011 11:31 AM GMT
personally think emmet mullins was a lucky boy... on the best/ most well handicapped horse by a mile and only just got up. good timing but could have been so much easier.
Report tinkler March 22, 2011 8:10 PM GMT
1. R.Walsh - Hurriacne fly - difficult ride perfectly delivered

2. D.Jacob - What a friend-  Got the old monkey travelling very sweetly
3. A.Mccoy - noble prince - pulled the trigger just at the right time

4. T. Scudamore - grans Crus - went shortest route delivered just at the right time
5. R. Walsh _- Kauto star- cut every corner, had him perfectly positioned.
