After having a bit of luck tonight on the darts, am tempted to put down 200 on Quevega. Before I do it, do you think I should ha?? Hmmmmm

yes. absolute certainty. only real banker of the meeting. Sparky May will be brushed off easily. The rest aren't good enough.

It has now been bet, so let's hope we are both right :)

Mullins about Quevega "I ran her in a schooling hurdle some eight or nine weeks ago and she came back a little sore on the same hind leg that gave her trouble two years ago so I decided at that stage to not jump her again for a while. Fortunately there have been no problems with it since but I'm about a week behind where I was with her twelve months ago and therefore she will need another gallop before heading over. She did a great piece of work last week and is the strongest she's ever been; my only slight concern is that she might be a bit too fresh this time."

a positive and a negative in that quote i guess, does worry me a little for one so short at evens

I think this years race looks easier with no Volder La Vedette and Carol's Legacy possibly going in the Stewart Chase

If its beaten the Irish will be skint almost top class against also rans

Interestingly she has never finished second in a race, i might take her on to get her out of the two, cant be the easiest thing year after year getting her here after a long break

exacta could pay huge

M ARMITRAGE: I’ve heard that Willie Mullins isn’t that happy with Quevega so I think Sparky May could well be very very solid

BUT THEN YOU READ THIS STUFF --

TUESDAY SHOULDER RACES
JM: Great Endeavour looks the right type for the Stewart Family Spinal Research Handicap Chase and he could be a Ryanair/Gold Cup horse next year. He has been put away for this. Tullamore Dew and As De Fer are both interesting for small trainers in the Centenary. Ruby Walsh has been waxing lyrical about Quevega recently and it is very hard to oppose her in the Mares Hurdle.
NR: Rare Bob will have a big weight and needs good ground but can go well in the Stewart Family Handicap but Great Endeavour should be favourite. Maljimar has an e/w chance in the cross country and almost won the 3m handicap here two years ago and he can give the Irish something to think about. Quevega should win the mares hurdle.
MS: I suspect Sunnyhillboy will improve for the step up to 3m and run a huge race in the Stewart Family Chase. I like Tullamore Dew in the Centenary who was second in the Coral Cup last season and taken well to chasing. Quevega is a stone better than these and is likely to start at odds-on.
PJ: I’ve been very keen on Sunnyhillboy for the Stewart Family Chase since staying on third to Poquelin over 2m5f, he wants this trip badly, and also think Reve De Sivola is a big e/w player given his track record consistency and this is a race where novices have fared very well recently. It didn’t last long but one firm went 6/1 Garde Champetre non-runner no bet, which struck me as the e/w bet to nothing of meeting paying out of first four. L’Accordioniste can be the one to give Quevega a fright, they think a lot of her.

Just going on the assumption that if she doesn't fire she might be nowhere, might as well and try and get a biggie out of it.

imo she either wins and people who oppose her look fools, or a few people hit the £100 odd exacta

quevega is the banker of the whole festival.
mullins had the same fears last year in the run up to the race.
dont back anything each way against it as there wont be a second.
Report TheFormMan • March 12, 2011 12:42 AM GMT
should be no problem for her, only need to read the form to see that she is in a completely different league to this lot, just days away now and panic starts to take over as you are heavily involved

Loving the negative vibes, they're just part of the Quevega  story. If they didn't happen it'd mean it wouldn't be as electrifying when she comes sweeping round that bend with Ruby hard on the steel; you start bellowing your bollocks off and you'll sure as Jesus have forgotten all about the whispers. Love everything about this horse, makes the festival imo.

I think it was PN when asked what he thought about Quevega gave a short and sweet answer "She'll Win" can't find any reason to think otherwise.

She drifted out to 5-2 last year so the negatives dont bother me
