Stayed there last year and drank in Cheltenham until last train which was about 9.45. By the time train got back it was all a bit quiet, but O'Neills near the station was packed on St Patricks night. Full of English people dressed in green and drinking ****ss. Probably didn't even go out on St Georges night.

First time in Worcester as well after a few years at Stow, sounds like we will be getting last train back as well, any good food pubs does anyone know?

If you want a few options all within a 2 minute walk. Get a taxi from the train station(its a fair old walk) to 'The Exchange' which is on Cornmarket. Just around the corner is 'The Swan with Two Nicks', near enough next door is 'The Pheasant'. 'O'Neills','Bushwackers','The Slug and Lettuce' will all have a bit of midweek life to them and are all close by. Try all of them and repeat the ones you like the next night! If you want something a bit quieter and some decent eateries try the 'Friar St' area. There are many good pubs scattered around Worcester for real ale and the like if that is your tipple but I only really know the City Centre pubs and all that I have mentioned are pretty reasonable and safe.

Forget what I said about getting a taxi for a start off. I was thinking of Shrub Hill Station. Foregate Street station is right in the centre. The pub which i mentioned earlier is pretty good http://www.theswanwithtwonicks.co.uk/ and has grub and real ale. Can't be any more help than that I'm afraid as i'm a heathen when it comes to booze
