The festival is  littered with horses who have had good runs during the season but become forgotten or written off because of one bad run.

Last season Imperial Commander came 5th in the king george and won the gold cup and
we had Big Zeb 2nd last in the Tingle Creek.

The season before Punjabi needed the run when 3rd at Wincanton.

This year I  Nominate Mossley to be forgiven his run in the mud at warwick

Menorah also got beat before the Supreme and the reaction on here afterwards was laughable to say the least.

CV, I actually thought Court In Motion could be forgiven his run lto so we're going head to head! Laugh

I would take the view that his last 3 runs have been comparatively poor too RDS, and have done elsewhere, but you can also argue that he did not act on the ground last March, ran adequately for a comeback run in Ireland, and was sick at Kempton...

Sam Winner, did not like the mud at Chepstow.

Kauto of course is on this list, I just didn't mention him as I didn't want you derail the thread.

Get Me Out Here, Get Me Out Here and Get Me Out Here was the same horse running the same bad race does that count?

Kauto Star? Denman? with PN doing his thing you can afford to forgive either of them bad runs

Minella Class everything that could go wrong did for him last time he gave aikman a 15l head start and 10lb in weight and ran a blinder massive overreaction to his defeat he should be an 8/1 chance

I've backed GMOOH the last 3 times and I'm now convinced he's just crap and Jonjo has gone for all money

i backed zarkandar but if he wasnt running id be on sam winner. i dont think minella classes grade one win was the strongest win ever but things did very much go against him lto

very true cv but we know how good golden silver is on irish soil and sizing didnt look anywhere near the horse that won the arkle,
first 2 starts this year i thought were pretty good for a 2 miler and his last start i'd say he was in need of a run back at 2 miles to get him used to the pace again,
is 2 from 3 at cheltenham with the defeat in the champion hurdle when he got injured,i'd be inclined to give him a chance in the queen mother..last one though.

Fit feeling i'm not saying he isn't good, I just said he doesn't fit the brief for this thread.

Arkle winners record in the champ chase is very good.

Masterminded has won all three starts and is fav for the race, he doesn't qualify.

The thread is meant for those that were short odds for a race at the festival before they had a bad run on their   last start.

Backspin for example was strongly fancied for the neptune before he lost lto. I know he has sadly died recently, but 1114 1115 those kind of form lines.

Also we can ignore falls, for example Punjabi was 11F3 before he won the champion, he was in contention when he fell at kempton so the F is ignored as unlucky.

See what i'm getting at here?

apologies cv...i didn't realize that imperial and big zeb were short prices for the festival before their disappointing runs you mention aboveGrin
By:
CVByrne
When: 08 Mar 11 14:43
Zaidpour sort of fits, as I only think his last run was disappointing. Though he has 1122 and isn't that big  odds really.

Yeah court in motion is fine. I like ones who lose  one race and then are forgotten about totally, then keep drifting. Punjabi was 11F in grade ones then Hendo said this is training in public at wincanton yet he drifted until he won.

Mossley,  Wierd Al and to a lesser extent Sam Winner would be the best three of the thread so far.

Champion Court - pulled like a train of a very slow pace, was in front too soon, also pulled a shoe off.
Back up to 3miles, better gnd and better pace will suit.

By Friday, we'll compile the final list, and stick them in some acca's.

Some good candidates already, Sam Winner being one for sure.

What about Alberta's Run? Arguably two bad runs but was actually still going pretty well when he fell at Ascot on the penultimate one.

Was hoping to see him in Ryanair rather than Gold Cup though.

Minella Class..... to add to Alvarado's comments Henderson thinks he is the best too, Bobs worth will be redirected most likely.
