yes, end of thread
Report horse9 • March 7, 2011 7:06 PM GMT
I think so.
Backing 6/5 shots at the festival isn't normally the fast route to retirement, but she is literally stones better than any other mare IMO
Report jonooooo • March 7, 2011 7:09 PM GMT
thanks horse...will she go off that on the day??
Report BJG • March 7, 2011 7:12 PM GMT
Goes off 8/11 imo
Report horse9 • March 7, 2011 7:13 PM GMT
I think alot epends on the easlier results, if 2 or 3 favs have gone in the bookies may look to get her and recover some earlier losses, if we're sitting with a few 33/1 rag winners then the satchels will be bulging and they'll just want to get out the racecourse and bank it.
Listen for the morning rumours around her, she is so fragile I'd want to make sure she travelled over OK and is fine.
On form she should be 4/7
Report sj • March 7, 2011 7:16 PM GMT
She is truely special in a weak division
Report jonooooo • March 7, 2011 7:16 PM GMT
i make her that or shorter...thanks horse
Report Howdi • March 7, 2011 7:18 PM GMT
last year the vibes were awful and she hosed in think i saw 5/2 last year at one point.
Report horse9 • March 7, 2011 7:23 PM GMT
Can't be Howdi, I got 6/4, not sure she opened up any bigger than 2s.
And whilst you're right there were some worrying noises around her in the days leading up to the race, on the racecourse there were nothing but positives hence the plunge
Report 2rivets • March 7, 2011 7:27 PM GMT
i was in the centaur she opened up 9-4 by the time i got outside she was 6-4 the queues waiting to be paid out were huge
Report dublinbarman • March 8, 2011 10:22 PM GMT
irish banker of the festival Quevaga, formality unless Sparky May has improved another stone since her last run, doubt that somehow
Report evra • March 9, 2011 12:21 AM GMT
would give the boys a run for their money in the CH  imo, therefore shes an absolute cert
Report Deplasterer • March 9, 2011 8:57 AM GMT
Better risk single bet than Big Bucks IMO, but he will win also, so double them up![smiley:crazy]

There is a horse in this, race last seen over hurdles, in May 08 then rated 144 as a juvenile, which was a better rating than Quevega at the time. Since then, after injury, she has improved 32lbs on the flat including a cracking 2nd in last years Cesarewitch, only just beaten a nk off of 94. If she has improved only half of that, even just 10lbs, it puts her right in the mix and currently trading at 33s, I recommend having a little each way on La vecchia Scuola. I was at a preview night last week and sat next to her trainer Jim Goldie and she definately runs. I'm on
Report 87blade • March 10, 2011 11:56 AM GMT
did he say anything about her chances?
Report jungleboogie • March 10, 2011 12:25 PM GMT
Hi Wille,

I reckon La vecchia Scuola has a great ew chance w/o quevega...should be around 12 14/1
I backed laccordiniste ew @ 20 with quevega, everyone is expecting so much from quevega, shes bound to have an off day

G'Luck all

Spoke to JG again this morning. She is fit and well. Lee comin up tomorrow to pop her over a few hurdles. Yes he does think she will run a big race. If she was trained by Nicholls or Henderson she would be single figures.
Report evra • March 10, 2011 3:40 PM GMT
her flat form bares no relevence to hurdle races!
she is an admirable horse buthasnt much hope against quevega imo
Report BJG • March 10, 2011 4:03 PM GMT
With no Our Girl Salley

Quevega could go off 1/4 imo
Report BJG • March 10, 2011 4:04 PM GMT
1/4??Laugh[smiley:crazy]

should be 1/2 **
Report evra • March 10, 2011 4:07 PM GMT
punters will hammer into her on the day, could easily go off @ 1/2

Am on LVS , just love the logic Willie , misplaced though it might be .
Report willie the milk • March 11, 2011 12:20 PM GMT
I know you cant compare flat to hurdles, but that is where we all start when one comes from the flat to try it's luck over hurdles. All I'm saying is at 33s, I would rather have an e-w bet on LVS than have a plunge, cos that is what it will need to be, on an odds on shot we haven't even seen since last year at Punchestown.
Quevega is to short.
Report sj • March 11, 2011 12:24 PM GMT
I would agree if she hadnt done the same as last year with a long break
Report Brooksielad • March 11, 2011 12:32 PM GMT
Im on the goldie horse aswell, stupidly good value at that price imo, would make her fav to beat the rest home.
