I appreciate that backing something to win at Cheltenham who, last time out was beaten 52l and made numerous jumping errors is not everyones idea of sanity. However before a call is made for the men in white coats please hear me out.
AT's chase career to date consists of a fall at Plumpton in December (behind Medermitt) and two races at Kempton, one victory one tailed off disaster.
Anyone who see his win at Kempton couldn't have failed to notice him jumping violently to his left at every fence. It was therefore a major surprise to me to see him entered at Ascot,Huntingdon and Kempton again after this success(all right handed tracks).
The cynic in me feels that the reason for these entries was so he could obtain a chase handicap rating far lower than his current hurdle mark of 144,and therfore qualify for this race. The handicap chase mark alloted to him after the Kempton debacle is 134 .
Of course there is a huge possibility that I'm reading to much into all this....I have no idea if the horse is well or is indeed being aimed at this race (also entered in the Coral Cup). However now many firms are NRNB I have backed it today at 22/1 with Skybet NRNB safe in the Knowledge that if my conspiracy theory is total BS I'll get my money back if he doesn't line up!
After winning a county hurdle by 11l of a mark of 135,I'm hoping that his Chase mark of 134 underestimates his ability when returned to a left handed course.
i have a similar theory regarding rackham lerouge who for whatever reason was beaten out of sight last time behind wymott but before that ran a very encouraging race behind medermit on his debut.

yeah he did. I watched that run and it was his debut, he just got tired in the closing stages.
He is a half-brother to Punchestwons, although im not sure he jumps that well just like his sibling.

There are a lot of Binary horses in training, im sure that the one that was the last to finish in the big chase at Donny will be winning this spring over a extreme distance....
