Time for Rupert is looking hard to beat in the RSA, but the value bet could be The Giant Bolster?!! He'll certainly appreciate the step up in trip and has won round Cheltenham, the main concern is his jumping, but going slightly slower over futher could help that too.
gustavo yes t.f.r does look good but as you know we wont get rich backing short priced favs ,one stat that helped me find the winner last year was that a very high percentage of winners of this race had at least 3 chase runs so there are a few qualifyers this may help i have backed jessies dream fwiw , the giant bolster gets a good word from one of the tipsters in the weekender good luck

Finding a 9/4 winner is much easier at Sedgfield and less chance of going wrong than it has at Cheltenham but he's such a good horse this Time For Rupert it's hard to see him losing.
The way I look at it is he's the most likely winner which leaves in my mind only 2 places to play for. If I have 8 quid on TFR I make 18 quid profit.
To make that same profit I have got to try and find a rag at at least 22/1 that will run into a place. There is the possibility the rag will win but not many RSA winners these days fall into the category. Unless Ferdy has something up his sleeve :0)
Just my personal view but I'd say the Giant Bolster can't possibly win and there's more chance of Time For Rupert winning than there is of TGB getting placed, which makes TFR the value bet not The Giant Bolster.

I hear what your saying Rondetto, the way i see it though TGB has been crying out for this trip and in his last race he spent first halve of it being very careful over his fences, trying to rebuild his confidence, and got him self a long way off the pace, but once Rodi had got him into a good rhythm, he went from strngth to strength, eating up the ground over his fences and in the end flying up the hill to a cosy win.
I really believe he could be a future gold cup horse and if jumping well from the start he could really give TFR a run for his money and at the current prices, he does seem to me to be the value.

if TGB places in the RSA then i will pay you out of my own pocket everyday for the rest of your life, its much easier to find who is the best of the best rather than which of the rags are better than one another

He's a good horse no doubt about that, but there's no guarantee The Giant Bolster or Mr Thriller would've been beaten had they not departed at Chelt back in Nov. He'd be a worthy fav in my book but 9/4 for a stamina sapping novice chase especially having only seen fences twice, not for me

TGB is only 6, a bit young for this test. TFR looks head and shoulders above the rest to my eyes, the race is his to lose. Whatever Mullins runs will be of interest.

TheFormMan, How can you call a novice chaser that is a course winner at Cheltenham, which has form lines like 1F1 and finished 6th in the NIH only 7 lengths behind peddlars cross over a trip which is way short of his best as a rag!!
And if he does win i'll come looking for my winnings!!
PS the RSA is by far my most profitable race at the fetival!!
