Why get hammered by Cue Card in Supreme when it could go and possibly win the Neptune? Doesn't make sense to me at all

Cue Card slammed him last year and his form this year is also better than Al Ferof.  Thought Al Ferof would be interesting over 2 and a half but presumably because they have Rock on Ruby in the Neptune, they are covering all bases.  There are plenty of other unexposed types who could be anything over two miles too.

Either that or the owner is still recalling Noland coming from the clouds to win the Supreme a few years ago.  Difference this year being that there is likely to be something better on the run in than Straw Bear!!

Poor decision imo

Rondetto - I'm not on Cue Card. I've laid him but Al Ferof can't beat him and at 25s for the Neptune would be a fairer race for him to win. Al Ferof cannot win the Supreme.

Gotta say, I'm wrong again but I did agree with Ballydoyle. Maybe Hales has more of an input (than we're aware) or as Marvinho suggests, it's to cover all bases and cater for Rock On Ruby. The first two winners today were only 10/1 & 6/1 but they did surprise me, and I've paid for it! I could see both running well, but just not being good enough to win! I never laid any more losers (just forgot to back the winners) so hopefully the nasty surprises for me are gone already in the first two races. In the words of Professor Brian Cox - "Things can only.....etc."

I think it was because PN found out I backed Spirit Son at all rates from the minute he beat Jonjo's Palace Jester and backed him in 125/1 double with Hurricane Fly.
