Report R Carver February 23, 2011 7:27 PM GMT
Graham Lee is a top jockey but he'd not be the first person to spring to mind.

Report Howdi February 23, 2011 10:53 PM GMT
ill ride it but as a layer at 6-1 cant promise ill throw the kitchen sink at it.
Report dwm767 February 23, 2011 11:36 PM GMT
I think Timmy Murphy will get the leg up! Can't see it really matters though, he seems pretty straight forward!
Report revedesivola February 23, 2011 11:48 PM GMT
lee has had big winner for owner and trainer before and is very much a get stuck in jock like jm which seems to be what the horse needs
Report sageform February 24, 2011 8:03 AM GMT
Costello could be a good shout. He is the most improved rider this season. B Hughes also getting better all the time.
Report eric_morris February 24, 2011 9:01 AM GMT
Graham Lee would be best if Maguire isnt available. Ridiculuos of they dont re-arrange Maguire's suspension dates he has worked for this ride all year.

Report ribotman February 24, 2011 9:14 AM GMT
dougie has always been a very talented rider.he is blossoming this season and getting good outside rides his talent deserves,no one could have given rec proof a better ride.
Report manyana February 24, 2011 10:01 AM GMT
If Jason doesnt win/defer appeal...Ruby will ride PC.
Report Ming_the_Merciless February 24, 2011 10:30 AM GMT
Just how far would your jaw drop if it's McCoy![:o]LaughLaugh
Report robbobear February 26, 2011 8:51 AM GMT
Ruby a good shout. Would prevent an awkward situation re Townend and Hurricane Fly. Ruby has only ridden The Fly twice and one of those was in France. Be a big difference for Lee riding all of Ferdy's rags to then being on the Champion Hurdle third favourite. At least Ruby is used to riding class horses.
Report Far From Trouble February 26, 2011 12:03 PM GMT
Ruby will be on Hurricane Fly. I can't see how this is even a debate tbh
Report seaserpent February 26, 2011 1:37 PM GMT
Dont know how true this is, but apparently at the exeter preview night Nicholls thought Ruby would ride Peddlers and Townend on Hurricane, like I say dont know how true, was anybody at exeter ?
Report revedesivola February 26, 2011 1:39 PM GMT
i wouldnt back ruby to be on peddlers at 33/1. fill my boots on g lee tho
Report gutfeeling February 26, 2011 5:32 PM GMT
^^^ if appeal doesnt work out then reve is right, connections wouldnt want ruby even if available.
Report Ballydoyle February 26, 2011 6:15 PM GMT
Paul Townend apparently rides Hurricane Fly leaving Graham Lee or Ruby Walsh free for Peddlers Cross.
Report revedesivola February 26, 2011 6:21 PM GMT
i dont see why a trainer who has used ruby walsh once would even consider to use him in the champion hurdle.
Report Ballydoyle February 26, 2011 6:22 PM GMT
Because he's one of the best around with bags of Cheltenham experience perhaps?
Report revedesivola February 26, 2011 6:34 PM GMT
hes always been one of the best around and donald has used him once. is there any betting as to who rides?
Report manyana February 26, 2011 6:37 PM GMT
ruby.
Report gutfeeling February 26, 2011 6:38 PM GMT
they have no interest in ruby whatsoever...yes he is a great jock but even if he doesnt have a ride he wont be on pc.
Report manyana February 26, 2011 6:41 PM GMT
Tbh..as long as the horse gets there in one piece, I dont care who rides...one of the most straight forward horses to ride imo.
Report SLS February 26, 2011 8:22 PM GMT
No chance it will be Ruby, Timmy Murphy seems to be picking up quite a few rides for DM notice he rode a winner for the yard today, he would appear to be a logical choice.
Report revedesivola February 26, 2011 8:28 PM GMT
1/5 graham lee, 9/2 timmy murphy, 66/1 bar
Report Slabster February 26, 2011 11:28 PM GMT
If he were mine I'd put Paul Carberry or Davy Russell up!
Report FOYLESWAR February 27, 2011 12:53 AM GMT
who is daryl jacobs mount
Report eric_morris February 27, 2011 9:56 AM GMT
They have to move/recude the days so Maguire can take the ride he has worked for all season. Cheletenham has to be considered for bans like this no-one goes out of their way to get a ban just before the Festival. Common sense needs to prevail hopefully he will win his appeal.
Report TheFlyingMuscovite February 28, 2011 5:36 PM GMT
I too hope Maguire wins his appeal but if he is unlucky then I believe Ruby will ride PC and win!
Report BARTON February 28, 2011 6:39 PM GMT
timmy murphy,no question, getting a few mounts for the yard, that said i reckon jasons ban will be reduced
Report Rondetto February 28, 2011 7:21 PM GMT
I'd go for Dougie Costello but it won't happen. They know this ban is unfair and in the racing public's eyes is very very wrong.

How can they deprive the guy from riding a horse who is near fav for the Champion Hurdle without looking like a bunch of hanging judges?

The cost financially is bad enough but it's as near to mental cruelty as you can get.

JM has spent all season dreaming of winning the Champion Hurdle, put in countless hours toward his preparation and they think the ban is fair. I doubt it!

Folks! fear not the ban will be reduced and he will ride, simple ass.
Report Rondetto February 28, 2011 7:23 PM GMT
@the flyingMuscovite. Ruby won't even have poC on his mind and wouldn't get off Hurricane Fly for all the tea in China mate.
Report woodworm February 28, 2011 9:36 PM GMT
I agree with Rondetto, cannot believe they wont reduce his ban.
Report Masterminded February 28, 2011 9:57 PM GMT

Theres no better rider of a hurdler than TOM SCUDAMORE. He never gets caught out at the start ,sticks to the
rail and is a good judge of pace.
