A shade over three weeks away, I understand the area has had plenty of rainfall over the last few weeks, forecast snow around the UK, more rain, cold temperatures...are we going to get Good to Soft on the opening day!?
True - but if it rains heavily on the weekend and Monday beforehand, it may actually be soft. It won't be anything better than gd-soft as that's the stated aim of the Clerk of the Course.
There will be lots of outraged comments here about Claisse leaving the taps alone , not favouring good ground horses etc, but if you haven't factored this into your punting for day one especially, more fool you.

GI Mac - thanks. Must have been 2007 that a deluge hit the track an hour before racing turning it soft. As Willie says, the quickest it will be is good to soft.
