I've a feeling the rumours could be true after all Shocked

ffsCry

ny reason given?
Report ChildOfMine2 • February 4, 2011 2:09 PM GMT
Nothing confirmed yet but it is strange that he's missed two G1's in two weeks for no apparant reason. Unlikely to go to Cheltenham I would have thought!
Report Mr Mischief • February 4, 2011 2:14 PM GMT
Very disappointing but that's racing i suppose.
Had high hopes for this one

@PPaudioteam Hi lads, any reason given for QUEL ESPRIT's absence?

@gcunning12 They sure do. There were rumours circulating two weeks ago that QE was out for the season. Maybe they're true after all?????

@Emmet_Kennedy there were rumours he was wrong before Irish Arkle (didn't make that) but no word no...

Sad

I can't stand the secrecy behind Mullins stable. Why not just tell us all ffs.
Report Hawk_Wings_Lockinge • February 6, 2011 8:17 AM GMT
Mullins says this morning that Quel Esprit pulled off a shoe when schooling and was a bit sore. So they decided to wait and run him at Navan next Sunday. Hope we can see him next week.
Report Mr Mischief • February 6, 2011 9:04 AM GMT
Chance now he might run at a re-scheduled Leopordstown?
Report TheFormMan • February 6, 2011 3:52 PM GMT
big chance,he was in the orig enteries so mullins could run him at lep if he wishes to
Report eric_morris • February 6, 2011 4:16 PM GMT
Says in his column today he goes for either the 2 miler or 3 miler next weekend.
Report unclepuncle • February 12, 2011 9:21 AM GMT
Takes on Mikael today over 2m5f - very surprised Mullins is running them against each other. I know his hand has been a little bit forced by all the abandonments but surely Quel Esprit could have gone for a normal novice chase? Doubt if we'll be any the wiser about their Cheltenham targets even after the race?
Report Mr Mischief • February 12, 2011 1:04 PM GMT
He will win todayCool
Report unclepuncle • February 12, 2011 1:20 PM GMT
I don't doubt it - but then why run Mikael at all if thats the case?
Report eric_morris • February 12, 2011 2:07 PM GMT
Quel Esprit the first to be niggled there before he came down he wont get the stiff RSA trip over fences in a horsebox nothing clearer there. He needs to be in the Jewson first beaten there.
Report Meddler • February 13, 2011 1:59 PM GMT
Is it not possible he was beginning to get outpaced and thats why he was niggled indicating a longer trip would suit?  Plus, the horse had a hold up last week so I'd be amazed if he was 100% yesterday.
Report Gashboy13 • February 13, 2011 8:35 PM GMT
Don't write off Quel Esprit - although I have no idea what his best trip/track/ground/running style is.
Report ReaseHeath • February 13, 2011 8:39 PM GMT
Mullins states in RP today that Cheltenham is still on agenda and it will be either RSA or National Hunt Chase.

My hunch is we're increasingly likely to see him in the four miler.

Would have won by a street
Report CVByrne • March 16, 2011 9:46 PM GMT
Aye, pretty gutted about that 2pts at 25/1 would have been adding to the mountain won already. I can feel happy that I was fairly justified in my belief in him being a perfect RSA horse. Pity about his jumping though.
Report unclepuncle • March 16, 2011 10:03 PM GMT
Would not have been in first 4 imo - was just starting to be niggled so when jockey asked him for a big one he couldn't manage it (similar to Great Endeavour yesterday).

Still he will be very well handicapped for something like the PaddyPower or Hennessey in November[;)]
Report Howdi • March 16, 2011 10:21 PM GMT
shocking race no star there imo
