Had my whole weeks spending money on UB while at uni. Had an oral exam nonsense where you had to present to class. I was one of the last to do it so sprinted down to the bookies just as it started. Never witnessed anything easier |

Yeah Anzum was a memory and a half.
I was on the Club lawn just before the Stayers and got chatting to a frightfully well-to-do sounding bloke, with an Owners and trainers badge on. Turns out he was one of the crew that owned Anzum. You know how the race panned out, with Johnson bringing him through from somewhere in Worcestershire. With each stride, the old aristo next to me's language just got worse and worse (or better and better depending on your viewpoint) until it ended up right in the sewer in a string of joyous 'Fux' (and it's semantic derivatives) peppered with a few 'C's for garnish! From Brian Sewell to Shaun Ryder in the space of about a minute - utterly brilliant!! |

Financially: Collier Bay winning the CH.
Sentimentally: Best Mate third Gold Cup. Watching him strut round the paddock after the race was special. Most Exciting moment. Lucky Bay finishing sixth in the NH chase when I became a prize winning owner at a Festival for the first and only time (so far)! |
