what i meant was that the hennessy was obviously the target, but the lack of the intended prep run may have scuppered his chances. whereas having already run when the lexus came round it was a different story. and with the irish hennessy about the right time away, it should run in peak condition, and same with gold cup if it gets its ground. i also think with pride of dulcote that he is 1 of 5 or so nicholls horses to win of about 60 since then?! which could mean he will come on for it when stable returns to form (whatever is wrong with it) who knows. cant wait for festival, will be first time i've been and buzzing more by the week! especially with all the big races in the next few weeks!

Possibly, as I say I do really rate Pandorama, im just not sure the demands of a Gold Cup will suit him, and the travelling does worry me...do you remember Beef or Salmon!? Top class in Ireland, always looked average in England, and im still not sure he beat enough in the Lexus to convince me he can win the best Grade 1 chase of them all!
Well if you remember Nicholls runners were on fire that day at Newbury, he had 4 or 5 winners on the card I think, Sam Winner, Big Bucks and the like! How do you see the riding arrangements? I have a feeling Walsh might ride Denman, I think Fehily will ride Kauto, Sam Thomas What A Friend, and either Harry Skelton or Nick Schofield will get the leg up on Pride of Dulcote...no negative, but can't be seen as a positive either! |

nah, before my time :( pretty sure that day nicholls had big bucks who i dont count as a winner, ghizao who only really beat captain chris on ground CC didnt like, and pride of dulcote who we are discussing, and rock on ruby, who i personally believe is one of the top couple of novice hurdlers this season, so not sure if i'd say they were flying that day imo. but still, we'll soon see.
i cant see ruby getting off kauto, which may leave sam thomas on denman/what a friend, maybe the latter to allow AP the denman ride. then i guess schofield on pride of dulcote. then again maybe ruby will want pride of dulcote if he fancies its chances, with fehily on kauto, AP/sam thomas on denman and the other on what a friend. who knows, a nice headache for mr nicholls to have im sure! that is what makes me believe that neptune collonges target will be the grand national, and maybe same for taranis (may run festival races but only as preps) to join niche market, the tother one and tricky trickster in the national :) |

You're right, sorry it was Rock On Ruby not Sam Winner, and I agree if they pick the right Novice hurdle for him at Cheltenham I think he's a good thing!
I think Ruby will have to be dragged off Kauto, but he is a professional at the end of the day and im sure if he feels come the time that Denman is the most likely contender of the two he'll switch across! Clive Smith is a huge Noel Fehily fan, and im sure he'll secure him for Kauto should Ruby decide against him! McCoy possibly on Pride of Dulcote? That would be interesting! Anyway, like you say, a nice headache for Nicholls to have! Enjoy your first time at the festival btw, it's really special! |

yeh i'd love AP on him, favourite jockey, on favourite horse (one of anyway) for favourite trainer (joint anyway) at a great price :) and i think the neptune is rock on ruby's if he shows up.... and thanks, i will do :) might not need to take much tbf as will have nearly every race covered on here before i go :)

Don't commit it all ante post; a lot can be learned about the novice hurdling types in the parade ring; the festival is nothing many of them will have experienced before; if they look calm, focused and happy then that's a great sign, if they're up on their toes they can blow their chance there and then, no matter how talented they are! If you get chance watch the parade before the Gold Cup; Denman last year was so relaxed he was practically standing asleep!!

i will still have bets there, as with the prices i have on here can afford to back more than one (i know some disagree but i dont mind having more than one chance in a race if decent enough prices) just cant wait now!

Couldn't resist a throw away tenner on Mad Max for the Champion Chase! I'm expecting a big run from him today, and think if he puts in a clear round at Cheltenham in March he might not be as far away as his price suggests!

If Mikeal does not race on the 6th Feb in the Moriarty whish it doesnt look like he will going by the 5/1 about him, he will race in the world hurdle which is preety annoying considering the bet i have on in the RSA, think this will really deflate TFR price
