I've been to most of the big meetings this year. But with cancellations holes in the programme etc. Feel the scene hasn't been set for Cheltenham Festival yet. Also many horses seem to a run behind where they should be and too many going straight to the festival.

agreed....nowhere near as excited as most years..not that there havent been some great performances put in by some and with the champion hurdle so far looking one of the best of recent times im not really getting the pre march butterflys as of yet..maybe this weekend could change it for me...fingers crossed.

Agreed and though I hate to say it on this forum in particular, but it's probably because of the long shadow Cheltenham casts over the whole season.
On the negative side, increasingly horses are being put away for the festival, meaning the post Christmas / pre-festival period has the feel of a phoney war (and why I have absolutely no time for whingeing owners who have hrses and then don't run them). Throw in erratic weather patterns leading to cancellations and there you have it.
However, I wouldn't have it any other way! I love the jumps over the flat precisely because the narrative is to come to the peak for heltenham and (maybe) Aintree.
