Cry - Forgive was one of the true greats imo - arguably should have won 3 gold cups.

Definitely has to be Well Chief's fall when favourite for the Champion Chase and had about 2 stone over all of his rivals - that race was a penalty kick for him!

And this year when Kauto fell in the Gold Cup(even though I'd backed Denman) - parly because I love Kauto and partly because of all the ar$eholes in the Best Mate stand who cheered like they'd just won the FA Cup.

Direct Route getting nailed QM 2000 by Edredon Bleu. Each time I watch it DR gets further in front.
Was half length last time I saw it :-)

Also QM of 07 as mentioned by the WC but for a different reason. Was on Nickname ap @ 240's. Pulled morning of the race.
Remember Thommo interviewing Martin Brassil on course on day. Would have been nice to get a run for me money !!

How I love that race haha.

Very similar to mine, wellchief-

I'd told all my non-racing mates what a certainty Well Chief was there, we'd all piled in, only for him to fall at the 2nd or 3rd Cry

And I was absolutely conkers deep on Kauto this year, biggest bet I've had. Relieved to see the old boy get up and walk away though, a nice moment that softened the blow of the cash.

It's for that reason that you could not pay me to go back to the Best Mate stand- full of total morons and chavs. Give me the hustle and bustle and atmosphere of Tatts any day. Happy

ibrahima,i was the same as you. refinement had won the race,or so i thought.was gutted, would have been a great start to the day. i think mccoy did brilliantly to get it there but i think he stopped pushing in the same manner when he reached the front.

Kicking King in the Arkle, Well Chief broke some stats to win it but it was a double whammy cos the next year I didn't back it for the Gold Cup either.

There are some races that the punters try to get out of jail and when Rhinestone Cowboy got beat the whole stand were on - he was robbed by the stewards too (some went in again for him to get the result overturned!!)- I call that day "black Wednesday", probably the worst day for punters I have ever seen there.

Psycho.

I had a wonderful Festival that year and had been to all the days (there were 11 or 12 races on Thursday Friday because of the storm).

Highlights included Albertas Run which I had backed on here at 30 winning at 4/1 Fav with a lumpy place bet on Battlecry,  monster bet on Denman on the rails at 9/4 for the Gold Cup, a decent chunk on Inglis Drever etc etc.

In my view the County Hurdle was a much better last race than the Grand Annual and I had £400 at 9/2 on Psycho plus a small ew saver at 25's on French Saluaie on the rails.

As you know Carberry F'cked up royally and French Saulaie placed at 40/1!!!!

I left the course in a very bad mood despite a superb and profitable week. Still hurts now.

Well Chief falling in the Champion Chase in 2007. I had got a good word for him before his comeback demolition job in the game spirit and had backed him at 9/2 for THe Champ Chase, he duely pissed up and went of evens in March. Myself an my mate wernt happ with our bundle at 9/2 and went overboard on track at 11/10. Just as the race went of it occured to us that the only way he could get beat was if he fell.... oh sh!t he just fell!!!!!

gold cup won by imp commander had backed a.p in singles  doubles trebles and a £20 e.w acca at billys sizing europe 13/2 ,big zeb 10s ,weapons amnesty 10s ,hills had a special offer as it was st patricks day  on the wednesday that any irish winner was a 2 points bonus if you took a price so the 2 10.1 winners become 12 -1 anyway had 2 days of sleepless nights walking around in a daze thinking of nothing but the gold cup had £23k + running on to cooldine at 16s  you know the rest ,i won decent money on the singles  doubles trebles  but its the massive payout that you always think back to ,what might have been ,it was a bit dissapointing but it was one hell of a buzz waiting for the gold cup knowing that a massive payout  was possible ,oh well theres always this years cheltenham to look forward to good luck to all

Mine is Harchibald too but in the County Hurdle. I was getting ready to celebrate his easy victory when he contrived to cost me of even the place money which would've been nice.
