Smoking Aces wasn't a bad animal over hurdles, very tough and resilient. On his first three chase starts he did have the appearance of a horse out for a nice handicap mark. I'd forgive him todays run. He wants atleast another half mile anyway.

Would that be the one that was heavily backed in a hurdle race at the PP meeting a few years back?
From memory didnt Sunnyhillboy then win the race at double figure odds?

Greek Well. Had a ridiculous position on that for the Cambs convinced that Stoute was hiding its true talent under a bushel. Stood to win about £12k from memory.
I was wrong - it was worth about 85 and was utter c@ap. One time Derby fav aswell
