Mart Lane. Shark Hanlon, won on his debut at Naas last month. Full brother to western leader. Does anyone know if he has an entry for the Champion Bumper ??
Good bumper at Newbury yday thought that ace would have gave us some clues. |

Re previous post on Beattie Green. The mare won officially on good to soft ground that day but ground was soft, just at the route she took, wide all the way round and normally very good indication of underfoot conditions - not good to soft.
Other times on the day in comparision to same meeting last year (the year Cue Card won) were slower this year. Also should be noted that Cue Card ran harder in the last two furlongs whilst Beattie Green heavily eased down final 150yds. Best line of form however that gives form credence is through Victor leudorum who ran in the same race. VL was beaten 54 lengths by BG whilst VL was only beaten 9 lengths by Knights Pass at Southwell. Knights Pass was 10s on here, BG now 48 after being in the 200s and bigger. Maybe lightning may strike twice with Fontwell bumper form |

PERSAIN SNOW WORKED ALL OVER MENORAH ON THE RPTV THING
By:
I wouldn't say worked all over because you couldn't see much, but just the fact he was working with Menorah is a bloody good sign.
![]() |
By:
exactly he was say half a length up swinging on bridle
intresting that snap tie is there best work horse and he gallops on his own cos nothing can go with him |
By:
wow havnt seen that........MACHINE!!!!! will check that out and that is great news he working with menorah.
By:
Worked all over
![]() |
By:
Would nt stil be 10/1 if it worked all over Menorah imo
By:
You have got to remember Persian snow is race fit atm as well. Menorah's still a way off of his peak I would imagine. Even so very impressive to be working with Menorah regardless.
By:
I think you could read too much into it myself. Think its fairly standard to work your better bumper horses with the better horses in the yard to try and give you an idea of how good they are.
By:
Might be worth getting Persian Snow added to the Champion market
![]() |
By:
i did like shuil royale but looked at his price and was only 25/1, given the fav is 10s that wasnt v good. seems now he going hurdlin in a couple of weeks. v strange decision imo but must be a good ground horse
By:
what do we make of it then persian snow and menorah work together because they give there horses ratings and them pair are rated the same ,, does this make persian snow a good thing ??? would have been nice to see the end of the gallop tho
By:
they had the yards fatty on menorah imo

Pardon my ignorance, I need your assistance. If a horse doesn't win his bumper first time out, does he need to run again before he qualifies to run in the Cheltenham bumper?
By:
i think he needs to be placed in order to qualify.
newbury race to be run fri i believe, will be interesting to see how many stand their ground, it a week less recovery time for what would appear to be a tough race. i notice that alot of the market leaders have run only the 2m and most of them on less than good ground, the cheltenham bumper will most likely be on good ground and staying 2m at another track will not ensure you stay 2m+ at cheltenham. |
By:
i was talkin to shark and his lad aint runnin. star neauville is his name i think. hes sendin him straight to the champ bumper
By:
What else did he say about him reve?
Or are you talking sh1t? ![]() Think he wins myself. |
By:
he said hes no world beater but hes good enough. he thought the better jock on the day won his last race for him. i dont mind if you think im talkin shyte tbh, you wouldnt be the first one. i told folk on here that shark thought hidden cyclone was a future grade 1 winner and that was b4 his bumper. he was 7/1 at the time
By:
wait now, im lyin, it was after his bumper. i can get the fred up if u want
By:
Sunday in NAAS will tell us (what we knew already)

By:
whats up with the lack of decent bumper horses from meade and mullins, not so long ago everyone was backing them blind in irish bumpers, how things have changed now
By:
Star Neuville goes straight to Chelt
Mart Lane does not travel |

I do like Bygones In Brid. I'm not sure if his plan is to go for the Cheltenham bumper but he looks very talented. He won his only start in what looks like a pretty average bumper but I was very taken by the way he did it. He led most of the way pulling pretty hard and when it was time to finish the race he ran green but still accelerated away in a very striking way. He has since been purchased by Harry Redknapp for £100,000 and is now with Alan King. Hopefully he is still in the listed bumper at Newbury on Friday and we will see how he gets on. From what I've seen in the last couple of years you need a horse with a lot of raw talent and this chap looks like he may have it.

By:
bygones is still in it at the 5 day stage
