Walkon, one of the top juvenile hurdlers two seasons ago, severed part of his tendon when winning at Aintree at the end of his four-year-old season and has been on the missing list ever since. However, Alan, pleased that the weight has finally started to come off, has pencilled in January 22 as the date for his return, declaring: "The Haydock Champion Hurdle Trial is the race that we are looking at, though it seems that we might come up against Peddler's Cross. However, we won the race last year with Medermit, and it will be just great to get Walkon back after all his troubles."
