exeter on sunday sir, 3 horse race
Report Alvarado December 3, 2010 1:49 PM GMT
be surprised if he could beat TARABLAZE
Report revedesivola December 3, 2010 2:30 PM GMT
wont be all that easy anyhow. i think that grade 2 was a bit weak and he blew up last time out apparantly so it should be quite a good race
Report booster December 3, 2010 4:34 PM GMT
Arkle I'd say.
Report revedesivola December 3, 2010 4:44 PM GMT
yeah. sanctuaire is running at exeter too and if hes anywhere above evens hes goin to be a crackin bet
Report revedesivola December 7, 2010 11:54 AM GMT
alright dan, how now
Report Far From Trouble December 7, 2010 6:29 PM GMT
Sang Bleu ran very well behind Finians Rainbow dan, thought he was an absolute machine

Laugh
Gutted to see this mug likes RC as I've backed him for the Arkle. Cry
Report TD_Gunner December 7, 2010 7:50 PM GMT
double-team forum bullying ^

BB - i think Sang is a gorgeous looking horse, and though his form is overall ordinary, i suspect he is also v weak at the moment and i think nicholls said he was short of work LTO. I'd be disappointed if he doesn't step up on that run at some point/
Report Far From Trouble December 9, 2010 8:18 PM GMT
Yeah but, you said Sang Bleu was a machine and the one to watch out for this year, and now we have to wait 2 years more?

ffs

GrinGrin

dan just likes Nicholls. Fair play to him, he's picked a top stable, but still, doesn't mean they are ALL superstars Silly

Am i correct in thinking royal charm only managed fifth at cheltenham last season?
Thats putting me off a cheltenham festival ante post bet currently.
Report R Carver December 13, 2010 7:08 PM GMT
He got outstayed behind Restless Harry in Jan.
Report revedesivola December 13, 2010 7:10 PM GMT
3rd, not ideal trip
Report ENGLANDBARNES1 December 13, 2010 7:19 PM GMT
What distance was it over???

Sorry just tried a search on atr and come up with nothing.
Report R Carver December 13, 2010 7:27 PM GMT
2m4 Barnsey. Travelled well, did not come up the hill. PFN said he was just a bit weak afterwards I think.
Report ENGLANDBARNES1 December 13, 2010 7:37 PM GMT
Travelled well, 'did not come up the hill' is the key which is why i am seeing such big odds quoted such as 20/1 for the arkle!

I am not seeing it in any other festival ante post markets so i assume this is where its heading?

I suppose in the horses defence, exeter has a steady climb in the run in, so maybe the extra four furlongs found it out at cheltenham previously?

Anyone know if the arkle is indeed the connections long term goal???
Report R Carver December 13, 2010 7:42 PM GMT
Think that would be the race IMO, but the trainer also said he may look after it this yr and he may not even go to that race. Remains to be seen how good he is, but visually the best novice i have seen this yr. I think the trainer just said he was a bit weak last yr, and possibly signifiant that he didn't run it afer he as beaten, he put it away.
Report revedesivola December 13, 2010 7:43 PM GMT
nearly sure it is, nicholls adamant it wont stay 2m4f esp at chelters
Report ENGLANDBARNES1 December 13, 2010 8:32 PM GMT
Does it actually have any decent form going left handed though?

The only race i have witnessed in the exeter demolition, and from what i've read about its performance over 2m4 at cheltenham last season.
Report revedesivola December 13, 2010 8:36 PM GMT
not an issue imo. very few horses are worse going one way rather than the other me thinks
Report R Carver December 13, 2010 8:45 PM GMT
Hard to say what will happen (I dont know its French form, but i imagine it was left handed) but i dont think this will be a problem - rarely will you see a horse jump straighter than he did at Ex.
Report eric_morris December 13, 2010 9:06 PM GMT
Has been left in the Grade 2 novice chase over 2m 3f at Ascot.
Report eric_morris December 13, 2010 9:06 PM GMT
... this Friday.
Report eric_morris December 13, 2010 9:22 PM GMT
Is quoted for the 2m 4f novice chase at the Festival also.
Report ENGLANDBARNES1 December 13, 2010 9:32 PM GMT
Ascots right handed aswell though.

Agree with regards to the way it jumped very straight at exeter so it should not be an issue.

Nicholls said of the Tincknell family-owned five-year-old: "He's got huge talent and just needs a bit of time and a longer trip. We will put him away now and bring him back for a possible tilt at the Grade 1 Scilly Isles Chase at Sandown at the start of February.

"The Arkle is not top of the list with him as we are in no hurry with the horse."
Report flushgordon December 16, 2010 10:48 PM GMT
thought he was better than that ,but mc cain seemingly thinks sports line is a bit of a tool.
Report downallstar December 16, 2010 11:08 PM GMT
I was happy with his battling back to beat more experienced horses today, but his jumping was not as good as the last day.
Report Joist December 16, 2010 11:56 PM GMT
Had just come on to post exactly that, Down- I really liked how he was first off the bridle but plugged on to battle past and get back up on the line.
