...apologies to speak of a race which ended so tragically but I thought this horse was very impressive today! Nicholls has said he's not sure about Cheltenham, but I see no reason why not! Jumped brilliantly until tiring late on; dare I say reminiscent of a young Denman!
dont think hes that great to be honest. race fell into his arms. henderson horse ran no sort of a race and proved before he is better and i think tell massini would have beaten him

Still a baby apparently but very impressive today. He did run down his fences in the staright but that was tiredness and lack of company. It was a brave move to take on Tell Massini from the start as TM liked to lead and could never get past the winner. We will never know who would have won if TM had not fallen but I think 1833 would still have won. Michel le Bon won just as easily last year though and didn't progress.

i dont think he will win a class 3 novice next time out under a penalty. im not trying to be provocative but i think the reason lots of ppl think this lad is great is bcos of hype. nicholls thought sang bleu was the next big thing too. i consider him to be a lucky class 3 winner and nothing else

Funny aint it,i werent that impressed with him.Think he would have won anyway, but looked a bit too fecked at the end for my liking. Not for me as antepost bet, thats for sure.

I remember a couple years ago and nicholls said 1833 was going to be top chaser, been waiting a long time him to make his chase debut. I backed him for the rsa this morning and had to back him at newbury today when 7/1 was available as i was expecting around 3/1-4/1. (sorry to aftertime)

I was told about this horse before it even ran a race under rules by a very reliable person. No matter what anyone says he has not lived up to what they thought he was going to be. They named him after their cheese company which tells a story in itself he was seriously well thought of. I think he will excel over jumps but he does not have the high class hurdle form for me to be getting too excited at the moment. He does have a look about him though that he hasn't really grown up and might just need even more time to strengthen up. He has definitely got the potential to be a nice horse but I couldn't compare him with Denman and for me the RSA could send him backwards.

1833 impressive today, gorgeous type of horse. looks like he'll be far better over fences, though i take today's form with a pinch of salt.
Btw, if Alfie was a superstar, why did PFN let him go for 110k? peanuts....

If you think backing a horse at 80's and being able to lay it at 34 is a poor move then good luck, if i had been a bit smarter then 150+ was around.
Be There In Five already had already beaten 1833 over hurdles but 1833 beat that opponent a long way on their chasing debuts, I know their is a long way to go but that was a pretty good debut in very testing conditions.

Yes, i know he's been hard to keep right, but if he thought there was masses left he'd not have been outbidded at 110k surely, which suggests jonjo may not have a great horse left to 'ruin'

I thought the horse looked a decent prospect in the making. Gangly individual with plenty of improvement to come which is probably why the Trainer has already sounded the warning bells about the RSA. He doesn't look ready for it just yet imo.

ive made my mind up that this fella could well win a gold cup one day and maybe next years henessy . nicholls seems unbelievably sweet on him . and he stills ays hes just a little baby .

nice alright. good idea to bowl along infront i thought. id say if more did similar then they could have finished much closer. good place to be as denners proved in years gone by

Spoke to Paul immediately after the race at Newbury. Very pleased as he really rates the horse but this is the first time he has had him right due to shins etc. Still a baby, could be very good next year.

Backed him today, he occasionally jumps deliberately, I'd give him more time and target next seasons Hennessey or a nice mark, even though this years RSA doesn't look the best.

Whether the Cheltenham Festival is part of Ainteen Thirtythree's agenda depends on trainer Paul Nicholls' powers of persuasion as he said: "I've always thought the world of him. I think he'd have an outstanding chance in the RSA but Paul [Barber, owner] isn't keen, so I've got to persuade him.
"Time ForRupert is good but you should never be afraid of one horse. He gallops and gallops and jumps. He loves Cheltenham.
"I've backed him at 33-1 for the Hennessy. I think he'll be brilliant there."

looks a real stayer to me,need further than 3m on the 2 runs i have seen.maybe if its soft he could figure in the RSA,but i can see him well outpaced on good,good-soft ground.

oh right didn't realise he was that high, have a feeling he'll be RSA bound in that case though a contested lead and livelier ground will make things tougher, I could still see him in the shakeup, will have to jump better though

Took 20/1 for RSA and have gone in again at 14's. Unlikely to have been fully wound up today. Time was only 0.63secs slower than the Aon chase, and he was eased down - Noland, What A Friend and Fair Along were ridden right out - he carried 7lb more than Noland and Fair Along, 3lb less than What A Friend.

Eric - spot on IMO. Exciting race, wonderful seeing Noland back, utterly meaningless for Cheltenham.
Noland is too slow to win over anything other than a trip and not good enough to win a G1 now. What a Friend is particularly ordinary, won poor G1's last yr, has a massive kink in him and needs a good jockey (or a great one in Ruby) on him. Throw the tape of that race straight into the bin.
Off topic, I know....

Really impressed with 1833 today. I have followed him over a cliff because I was told how good he was from his p2p days. He really has been a dissapointment up to this season and I think he has just needed to grow up. He is extremely progressive and I couldn't rule him out of winning anything in the next few years in the 3 mile division. Tbh I never thought he could be a Hennessey candidate but he could be just that!

Stewart part owns the horse and he said prior to Christmas - when his next race was supposed to be the the Feltham - that this race would tell them if he was good enough for the RSA. If Nicholls is now onboard then the RSA seems pretty certain to me.
I have my doubts he's good enough so might lay my stake back at the sp.

I learnt my lesson from last year, had what can only be described as a wet dream of antepost books, then one by one they were turned over, Dunguib, Captain Cee Bee, Go Native, Bensalem, Quel Esprit, Long Run.......
I'm laying off some of my stakes thats for sure.

Nichols just wants a runner in therace, he would have 3 in every race if the owners agreed towards his trainers title efforts even though it may not be the right thing for his horses.

A quartet of leading chances from Paul Nicholls' stable put in some good work this morning
We took four of our big Festival guns for a racecourse gallop this morning, and they all fired nicely.
They all worked over 2m, going a nice steady gallop, then quickening up in the final furlong.
Denman (Sam Thomas) worked with Big Buck's (Harry Skelton), and Poquelin (Ian Popham) worked with Ghizao (Nick Scholfield).
All four went nicely, but it was not a serious gallop. It was just a nice trip out for them.
I revealed Denman had a soft palate operation here last night and the reason why we gave him that was to give him every possible chance of winning at Cheltenham.
And he went well this morning, and luckily that put Paul Barber, watching the gallop, in a good mood.
So I think I am winning the battle to run Aiteen Thirtythree in the RSA Chase at the Festival!

He's only 2lbs below Time For Rupert and if they've been backing him to win a Hennessy this far back then he surely has a great chance in an RSA.
I could have 5 backed that run in the RSA

Does seem harshly handicapped for a horse that has won in small fields, albeit impressively.
He could be rated above 170+ if wins the rsa by a long way.

Visually very impressive, spectacularly built, rangey, scopey. A lovely staying galloper. 159? I almost choked on my cornflakes yesterday. Time and again the handicapper (IMO!) goes mad on novice chasers.
He could not have won his 2 chasers more impressively. He may turn out to be a 159 horse or higher but so far he has beaten Voramar 2, who has looked less than enthusiastic twice since (I dont think he wanted to win at Chepstow) and Be There in Five, who has not advertised the form.
He then beat Tarablaze who surely did not show his true running, making repeated erors before being eased and 11 yr old Flight Leader who made errors and has not won since 2007! I am sure 1833 is a nice horse, probably well above average, but this rating on all known form looks a bit exalted to me.

That is why I am a bit suspicious as well Ibrahima. He was tried and tested over timber, and while always sure to be much better over fences, this rating looks a bit high a bit quickly. He better be good (I'm sure he is) because not many horses win a Hennessy of marks in the high 150s.

No, that's not right...that is his chase mark according to RacingPost site but it was also his mark going into last year's RSA and would obviously have gone up as a result of that

Weapons is different class to 1833. WA looks like a racehorse with Gold Cup potential the other,so far in my eyes a horse with maybe Welsh National potential, further the better for 1833.

Daryl Jacob looks like picking up the exciting ride on Aiteen Thirtythree in Wednesday's RSA Chase at Cheltenham.
Earlier in the day part-owner Andy Stewart had hoped Ruby Walsh would be on board but trainer Paul Nicholls, speaking at a Paddy Power-sponsored preview after racing at Sandown, revealed that Walsh was more likely to be on Mikael D'Haguenet.
Walsh partnered Willie Mullins' chaser to victory at the Festival in 2009 and it appears a partnership he wants to keep intact.
"I think Ruby is going to ride Mikael D'Haguenet. It's one we've still got to sort out, but he's won on him before and I think Willie would like him to ride. If he does then Daryl Jacob will ride Aiteen Thirtythree," said Nicholls.
In other jockey bookings, Walsh was confirmed for Sam Winner in the JCB Triumph Hurdle, with Jacob the beneficiary on exciting prospect Zarkandar.
"Ruby will ride Sam Winner in the Triumph with Daryl on Zarkandar, Harry Skelton will ride Brampour," added the champion trainer.
Just ride him like he rode Diamond Harry in the Hennessey.

Yes. They've told me Walsh rides him and that he's strongly fancied. I don't really fancy it but, as I've not backed anything, I've had a small interest at 9-1. I prefer a more battle hardened horse for this race but over the past 2 days they've named 5 winners, one of which was Walsh's winner at Sandown yesterday. They've also recommended I back Poquelin at 5-2 for the Ryanair but I'm on at 9-2 so don't need to do that.

looks a natural and jumps his fences very confidently, while time for rupert just fiddles round for me. I rated tell massini very highly and he was giving him a hell of a race before he fell.think he'll be there at the death because of his jumping although the thing that might worry me is that his times have been quite slow. (graeme rodway from the trading post thinks he needs 6 miles.)

the owner of Poquelin on GetOn yesterday morning basically said he was a certainty, as the horse has ''improved loads'' and''we have him much, much, better''. He said he is more confident than Big Bucks. FWIW

No doubt Poquelin's last run was his best on ratings and always better fresh on good ground. Just a nagging doubt he wasn't at his best in this race last year.
