According to his column in todays R.Post Mullins is thinking of running Quel Esprit in the Irish Arkle next weekend. This seems to be an unusual prep race for the RSA or is he changing his mind about what race to run it in at Cheltenham. Or is trying to get it jumping at quicker pace, knowing the pace at Cheltenham will be a lot quicker than 3 mile novice chases in Ireland.Thoughts please.

Shot in the dark here but Mullins said just before Xmas that Fiveforthree was fit and well and if the weather allowed he could be running soon.....now...it hasnt but assuming he's still fit and well.....he could well be Mullins' for the RSA although he'd have to had at least one prep run over fences and he did say he might well keep him over hurdles for another year.....I just think that given his class, Mullins may well be keeping him back to prime him for a big run.
Re Quel Espirit, Mullins never ran Cooldine over 3m before he won the RSA so he obvioulsy doesn't think its totally neccesary |

Thanks for the opinions, makes a change to see a thread with replies that have no agenda or slagging off of the posters.

Hmmm looks like Mikael will be rsa bound given he's been withdrawn from the irish arkle. Think I may have got mullins wrong on this one.

The much-vaunted Wymott is poised to reappear at Haydock on Saturday.
Unbeaten in two starts over fences, Donald McCain's seven-year-old is set to take his chance in the Grade Two Liverpool Echo Novices' Chase. His performance in that two-and-a-half-mile contest may determine his future target at the Cheltenham Festival. McCain said: "He is a classy horse and Saturday will be a good test for him, but let's not forget that he has only finished out of the first two once in nine races and has won over a range of distances. "I am yet to decide which novice chase he will run in at Cheltenham, now that there is a two-and-a-half-mile option (Jewson Novices' Chase) as well as the RSA Chase." |

cvbyrne- instead of saying a horse 'will be' going for a race pls say 'i think a horse will go for' as it really throws people off, especially as we have some people in the know on this forum. luckily im on for the rsa

alex, make your own mind up mate imo.He has always looked a stayer to me and obviously to you too,as you have backed him in RSA.Not sure about him myself, not sure he is as good as a lot think he is.
