Seriously CV, give it up. Not only will you never get kirk to change his mind, he deliberately goads you into these 'debates'. Anyone with a genuine love of the game acknowledges KS's brilliance and I know I've said to you before that you jumping to his defence at every slight does him and you a disservice (though to be fair, you've lightened up since last season [;)] ).
For my part, it's fairly obvious who my idol is and throughout both Mateys and KS's careers I've always held onto the belief that my fella was better because of his versatility over trips, extravagent fencing and handicap performances. So, when , as I expect, KS wins the Hennessey, it will be tinged with a little sadness that my hero has been eclipsed. But I still can't wait to see it happen and truly hope he pulls it off. |

Desert Orchid is a great. To me it's Arkle, Desert Orchid, Kauto Star. The horses of their respective generations. Each unique in their brilliance. All separated by enough time to make comparisons of superiority pointless. They are the horses that should always be celebrated by true lovers of the sport.

Agreed, although you might want to do a bit of work on Kautos nickname, CV

Much as i enjoy CV's posts and knowledge, one has a horrible vision of him lying there with his erect pen1s covered in fresh oats waiting for Kauto to nibble them off!
I do howevber believe KS is one of the all time greats without a shadow of doubt his versatility puts Denman right into the shade. One thing though that irks the Kauto lovers (and i consider myself a huge fan of this amazing beast)is there's always a small doubt whether he can hack it when things get brutal mid race.Usually wheh Denman is beating the relentless gallop up front, theres this slight niggle that "oh sh1t i hope his jumping stays together under pressure" I'd so much love to see these two legends neck and neck eye balls out together at the last fence at Chelters. |

IC and Denman have both beaten KS in fair run GC's. IC beat him in a betfair too! IC's first run was slated but was no worse than KS's!
