I wish Voy Por would be retired now. Alan King has tried him on every track, going and trip possible and I think enough is enough, and give him a well deserved retirement before they do something stupid and put him in the National!
Horses I'm looking forward to seeing that are coming back from injury are WALKON, PRIDE OF DULCOTE and NEPTUNE COLLONGES. Also will be interesting to see how CRACK AWAY JACK is campaigned this year - Champion Chase, Ryanair? |

AN SIORRAC......out for season with a leg injury-Irish Field 19/12/09. ARALDUR........fractured his pelvis so plans on hold. BENBANE HEAD....out for the season again ? tendon injury RP today. CATCHING PIGEONS.....appeared to break down, hopefully just lame ? CROZAN....sold so may have changed from Sue Smith's Stable ??? DEFINITY...has heat in a leg (P Nicholls). GRACECHURCH.......any news after Fontwell yet ??? JACK THE GIANT.......due back ??? JOKERS LEGACY...........tendon problem. KAZAL..........news ??? KRUGUYROVA....back in training, C Egerton ????? MANOR PARK....strained a tendon, out for 12-15 months ???? MASTER OF ARTS......run over jumps this season ??? METAPHORIC...could actually be a very good staying hurdler but not been seen for a while ??? MICHEL LE BON....was out last season with heat in their tendon. MISTER TOP NOTCH.....out last season, trained by Davy Fitzgerald. NEVADA ROYALE...............any news ??? ON RAGLAN ROAD..........out for the season again ??? PLANET OF SOUND......Hobbs. From Philip Hobbs stable tour "Planet of Sound likely to start in the Betfair Chase or Amlin chase but not on soft or heavy. Might go for the King George but not sure track will suit" I don't think he has a problem.

Mister Top Notch could have run his last race
BY BRIAN FLEMING6.20PM 22 NOV 2009 MISTER TOP NOTCH, whose career highlights include wins in the 2007 Grade 1 Dr P J Moriarty Novice Chase and last season's Pierse Leopardstown Handicap Chase, is out for the year and could have run his last race. The ten-year-old had been earmarked for the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury on Saturday and on Sunday evening he was still quoted for the big race by several firms, with Paddy Power shortest at 16-1. However, trainer Davy Fitzgerald said: "He came back lame from Navan and you won't see him again this year. It could even be it for him, you never know." Marie Cronin's horse was remounted by Barry Geraghty after a fall at the penultimate flight when finishing a remote fifth behind Aitmatov in the Lismullen Hurdle 15 days ago. "I thought he was just struggling turning in and I expected him to run better at Navan, to be honest," added Fitgerald. "There was something amiss with him and the fall probably helped some of his old problems recur." "That's the way it goes. We had some great days with him over the years and we're still hoping we might get him back, but only time will tell." |

Shining Gale ran off 149 (from memory) and won despite injury last timem it ran. I think this horse has got Grand National written all over it (probably 2012) if they can avoid winning anything decent over fences. Be thrilled if Nick Williams can get it back he is a superb trainer.
The other forgotten horse for me is Aces Four - a real shame we never got to see the best of him. Also whatever happened to Vicario de Bray and Grey Salute? 1989 Tote Gold Trophy now there was a race. |
