Fancy this one for the arkle this year.Did well over hurdles last year but always looked like he would make a better chaser.Ran well for long way in 3mile novice last year but didnt stay the distance and won easy over 2 at the punchestown festival.Anyone any info on targets for this horse?am a bit wary of backing antepost now they have the 2.5mile novice.

probably right to be wary but in the three books ive purchased pre season all say arkle is the target.

I suspect those books would have been written before the new race was announced but the Arkle is surely the most likely target.

The one I'm most looking forward to this season Love

Arkle....unless he's shows he's not good/fast enough then he could switch to the new race. Although, think he may be an Arkle cert ShockedCool

Now that GMOOH is not going chasing, this is my early Arkle fancy, seriously impressive at Punchestown and very highly regarded by Mullins.

Yep top of my list of exciting horses for next year too. Travelled like a dream at Chelts before not getting home, looks better on decent ground. Just needs to be able to jump!

Really like this horse too, ground usually has some dig in it on ythe first day, and you have to stay to win the arkle, but my only concern is why he was run in the 3 miler last yr? they had the grey for the ballymore, true, but what signals was this horse giving at home to run in the 3miler?

absolutely LOVE this for the Arkle. My main cheltenham bet. cannnot believe 25-1 still left in places, a JOKE of a price, genuinely reckon it goes off at 9/2 on the day and wins comfortably. Alan king still not firing, celestial cant jump, captain chris will go for the RSA. get on NOW!

I'd like to see Punjabi take to the chasing. I think he'd be a ha;f decent shout at this stage despite not having a bet.

what price did he drift to CCM ? He is 22 at the moment.
By:

When: 09 Nov 10 11:36
There was a little bit of 24/25 knocking about, and almost nothing on the lay side. Seems to have steadied out as Temlett says, but he was solid around the 16.5 mark previously.

Still a bit of a negative imo.

but wasn't he originally available at 25/1 across most bookmakers before the season started ? Isn't it just the market correcting itself after the initial rush of money ?

Don't think he or Mikael will be enterred up until Willie's horses start to show a bit better form.

apparently because of an interview with a owner on tv- debating what to enter it in. However theyve decided to go for the arkle for sure now. 16-1 across oddschecker.

I;ve heard from a very good source that he is out for the season. I was told this morning.

I promise you, I'm not on a wind up here.

Cyrus,
the guy (a friend) who told me was convinced. He had backed him for the Arkle and was gutted.
I hope I'm wrong and he has been fed dud information. But he's well connected and as I said, he was convinced.

yea doesn't look good, hopefully it will just be a minor setback or something. can't see how the fixed odds boys in the shop still have it so short. just pray its another binocular over again.

i do love it, such a good horse, jumps so fast, travels like a dream. just hope the 'injury scare' isnt true and its just overreaction to a drift- would be great to see it line up at the festival..

i just did some digging round, mark howard says in his updates 'he received an email today (9/11/10) saying it is a heat injury of a tendon and will be scanned next week, so not nessecarily out for the year, earliest could be seen is after xmas' so not all gloom and doom.
