tell me about it heard it from a man in the know hopefully its just a cut
Report ChildOfMine2 October 12, 2010 4:25 PM BST
I'll be sick if he doesn't get to Cheltenham this year!
Report Wayward Lad October 12, 2010 4:42 PM BST
LTO, the horse just about beat Solwhit on going that was far too quick for Solwhit, a horse who is easily a stone better on going with "give" - but even then is still 20lb behind Binocular.
Solwhit confirmed the Champion Hurdle form with Medermit at Punchestown, yet in 3rd was an OR140 rated handicapper.

There was a novice hurdle won on the same card over C&D with the winner also carrying 11st 12lb in a time just 2.60 secs slower (about 10 lengths), yet the winner of that race was given an RPR rating of just 146. That suggests Hurricane Fly should have been given a rating of OR156 max (in line with his speed rating of 153), but was actually awarded RPR164.

I would rate the horse about 152.

You forgot the mention on his first start for five months! [:)]
Report Mickie D October 12, 2010 6:57 PM BST
tell me thats not true - would love to see him with a clear run at the season
Report Stake & Chips October 12, 2010 7:06 PM BST
I would have imagined that there would have been a drift by now, if there was any serious injury setback...[:x]
Report Far From Trouble October 12, 2010 7:27 PM BST
Is the horse made of glass please?
Report CVByrne October 12, 2010 7:43 PM BST
No, the horse is not made of glass FFT, it's a rather silly thing to think. But that would be amazing if we could though make a horse out of glass that could win grade 1's Mischief
Report Far From Trouble October 12, 2010 7:43 PM BST
Had more injuries than Fernando Torres though [:o]
Report CVByrne October 12, 2010 7:45 PM BST
Really? I didn't know that, is that why my antepost bets for the past two years didn't come in? I thought he RR or RO both times while I was deciding whether I could tie my shoe laces fast enough before the off.
Report CVByrne October 12, 2010 7:46 PM BST
On closer inspection they were loafers
Report Far From Trouble October 12, 2010 7:50 PM BST
The intention was not to anger you CV Sad

Hope he stays fit and well, top horse on his day no doubt
Report CVByrne October 12, 2010 7:52 PM BST
I'm messing with ya FFT, you can't anger me mate. I need to include smilies, more smilies.

Report CVByrne October 12, 2010 8:01 PM BST
Cool

Hope he's fit for Chelts, I am hoping for 3rd time lucky, ap voucher from prior to that magical day at Punchestown.

We need Bino vs Fly as Denman vs Kauto has run it's course.
Report brandyontherocks October 12, 2010 8:34 PM BST
totally agree with wayward lad
think the fly is 10lb below champion hurdle class
Report TD_Gunner October 12, 2010 8:48 PM BST
you're going to be dissapointed when Peddlers Cross has an 8 length lead over the last and isn't stopping CV.
Report Mickie D October 12, 2010 8:50 PM BST
I appreciate your points on what he has acheived, yes he has to find a bit - however it is a sign of Mullins as a trainer (and the horse) that he has got him to win what he has.  I think of all the contenders to Bino's crown this is the one that has the potential to improve and give him a rattle

Your second post Quevega and you start this thread. I hope nobody gave you the price you were looking for. Quite a few of these threads started by posters with low post counts.
Report CVByrne October 12, 2010 10:46 PM BST
Thats why this forum has gone down the toilet year on year Graeme
Report ben10 October 12, 2010 10:50 PM BST
There's a poster who's posted 20 times or so and said McCoy said Get Me Out Of Here jumped like a stag, even though there's an article earlier on the thread that says he didn't school well Shocked
Report CVByrne October 12, 2010 10:56 PM BST
Do they think the layers who post on here a morons who will react to people who post unfounded "news" in here? Honestly? Stop wasting time.
Report Temlett October 12, 2010 11:37 PM BST
He did not even work this morning and is only cantering anyway.

Had more injuries than Fernando Torres though Surprised

the horse?
Report ChildOfMine2 October 13, 2010 1:39 PM BST
Temlett, when should we expect to see Sivota out again? And how's Mikael D'Haguenet?
Report Daggers Drawn October 13, 2010 4:37 PM BST
Whether injured or not, you can't see this horse having any more than 1/2 runs before Cheltenham. No doubt he'll come good at Punchestown though.

I'd take Solwhit over Hurricane Fly in big races in Ireland any day, prior to the Punchestown Festival.
Report Temlett October 13, 2010 7:59 PM BST
I have no information on either horse COM.
Report CVByrne October 13, 2010 8:52 PM BST
I think a half fit Hurricane Fly proved who was the better horse at Punchestown with regards Solwhit.
Report Howdi October 13, 2010 8:55 PM BST
half fit come on now !!!!
Report DukeofMarmalade October 13, 2010 9:04 PM BST
Definitely shaped as though he needed the run. Cantered all over him but lacked the finishing kick we all know he has, Solwhit not even in the same class in my opinion.
Report Mickie D October 13, 2010 11:00 PM BST
I agree with Howdi and Duke - came there cruising, took him a while to wind up but in the last 50 yards you can visibly see him quickening and is pulling away.  Would love to see Mullins get a clear run at the season with him - he could really threaten Bino i think.
Anyway Temlett - whatever happened to you?
Report buddeliea October 17, 2010 9:00 AM BST
Hf if fit can trouble Binocular, and i could give Go Native another chance.P cross is an interesting one that could figure with expected improvement.Dont see any other horse that can win the CH nextmarch.
Report starspangledbanner October 17, 2010 11:50 PM BST
just goes to show ye exactly how highly mullins rates him when he had him entered in the irish champion stakes at leopardstown last season
Report ChildOfMine2 October 19, 2010 9:28 AM BST
Something amiss here?? - has drifted slightly in the last 10 hours Confused
Report Mickie D October 20, 2010 9:45 PM BST
