What did people think of his run? Seemed to travel nicely then blew up a bit when hitting the last.

I was quite disappointed after Ruby's comments....perhaps he needed the run as some of Nicholls tend to do.

Have Ruby or Nicholls said anything about his run do you know?

will be a good season for the tizzard stable imo..

I see in the RP stable tour on Monday that Ghizao could next run in the novice chase @ the PP meeting, does anyone else think that this horse could end up being Nicholls arkle horse ?
I think that he was beaten fair & square by Kilmurry on the day & that horse looks very good but Nicholls seems to think there may be a fair bit of improvement to come from his horse it could be a good rematch.

i think kilmurry looked a horse going places jumped for fun and quickend like a good horse, even if ghizao did blow up its hard to see him turn that round as kilmurry gave him bout 8 pounds an 11 length beating fair an square im on Kilmurry at 33s for arkle best novice chaser out so far this season imo but still early days

People on the Arkle thread still dont seem to like this one, despite his run yesterday...

Whats not to like? Jumped well, travelled well and quickened nicely at the end.Looked ok to me,still early days but not seen anything better thus far.

na ground beat captain chris
By:
tweedledumbtweedletwat
When: 29 Dec 10 18:55
captain chris jumps right handed, never a good habit at cheltenham imho.
ghizao gave them 10lb today and thrashed em,what more does it have to do?
has had 3 runs over fences this season and improving with each run, also 2of those runs were at chelt gaining experience whilst other novices cant get going due to the weather.
nicholls must be laughing his socks off

bring on chelt!!!

ludicrous reaction from some bookies...4's in a place!!!! Anyone who takes that must be bonkers. Arkle and a bet placed at less than 10's is not a classic cocktail. He was good so in with a shout if you ignore his first run
By:
Alvarado
When: 29 Dec 10 22:22
agree but hes trained by nicholls so theres always an over reaction much like hendersons

Heading straight to the Arkle according to Andy Stewart in RP today....Timmy Murphy thinks horse has further improvement in him.

4s is a fair price given the fact nothing else has done anything thus far also this new 2m4f novice race may water the field down worthy fav imo
By:

Near impossible to bet Ante-Post for the Novice Chases with the new race added this year.

When: 30 Dec 10 16:00
6s available on ghizao best price. next in betting finians rainbow big danger imo then u got medermit, royal charm, mikael d hagugenet all not certain to line up then ur back at the likes of captain chris who is 25s. not a lot of depth in this arkle field atm
By:
johnny jojo
When: 30 Dec 10 16:02
where as ghizao is a certain starter barring injury the more i think about it 6s is a good price as captain chris will surely pick up a minor novice chase boosting the form

I don't think there is any over reaction to this horse. I actually feel he is under-hyped.

As I stated on the Arkle thread. Go the sportinglife website go to racing and then video form. Watch his Cheltenham win and then listen to the interview with Paul Nicholls.

6/1 is too big and he will be 7/2 come the big day.

I think he is underhyped too.  I stated on the arkle thread I had a little tickle on him after his first run, and was shocked noone took him seriously after he battered the best novice field of the season so far, yet everyone was clambering over themselves to back Finians.  IMO those people missed the fancy prices on Ghizao, but are on 33s etc for Finians, so didnt want to believe Ghizao was a genuine contender.
By:

When: 30 Dec 10 20:15
they are both genuine contenders, the only 2 at this stage it seems.dont think we will know which is best till the day of the arkle to be honest.till then we can have fun supporting our bets.
i personally think that FR is a classier horse and will prove it in march, but accept i may be wrong, time will tell,as always.
By:
Albion Dan
When: 30 Dec 10 20:38
I agree Budd, FR looks to have a lot of potential, it just bemused me a bit that after G's 2nd run people were putting comments like "no arkle winner there" etc. He may not win the arkle, but he has been the most impressive up to now.
By:
buddeliea
When: 30 Dec 10 21:03
like you say,its probably people talking through their bets, dont think Ghizao can win cos i aint backed it,cant have FR cos i aint backed it.Thing is those that have one of these at big odds can still back the other, and at this stage if the did they look like having a winner!!
I have FR at prices around 30,nowt to stop me backing Ghizao at some stage,if i feel like it.

Yes I may have to have a saver on finian's ha.  Have Medermit at 22 aswell, but my enthusiasm for him has tempered some what recently.
