Any ideas on this guys plans for the year. I know we have a couple of Nick Williams fans on here. I think with a bit of cut in the ground he will be going to the top.
you hardly mean me do you!! IF i was him id run him here until the ground gets better than soft and then send him off to france for the rest of his races for the season. must be a frustrating horse to have

id say he wishes he never ran me voici at aintree. it would have been to early to turn him out after his haydock run i think. An easy enough race around cheltenham in france would have been good for him and then tuck him away but its easy for me to say that. he was prob worried about it being taxing on a young horse and so decided against. What novice graded chases would suit him best in gb between this and about january that he could go for. Id say hell make a v good chaser... he could take femces like most horses take hurdles!

well i dont know. would he handle the ground. nick says heavy ground is perfect and that even soft ground is not ideal although he would have no problem running him on it. Im told that top class horses will handle any ground but i dont know reli. my god he is huge though isnt he?

France-Galop.com for the cards and the form of the others - the Pride of Kildare is a very hot race (usually) for unraced 3yo Hurdlers (won by Master Minded, Azertyuiop and Exotic Dancer in the past), it was won by Sang Bleu last year.
The other race is a regular 4yo Hurdle - I've not looked over the others in the field but the Williams horse won a Maiden P2P in a decent enough time in April so clearly has ability.

http://www2.france-galop.com/FGWeb/domaines/courses/courses_calendrier.aspx that should work - races 3 and 7 the Williams horses are in.
If that site takes you to the main calendar then Auteuil on 30th September is the one

Yeah he won at Kingston St Mary in April in a decent time. Imagine they'll both come on for the run and the race that Horatio Caine is in is normally a very hot race.
They've chances if jumping round - would prefer to see a French jockey on them given how the race is likely to be run or see Jacob go off in front on them both. Both races are over 2m 2f.

Because I doubt that the Williams horses will have the turn of foot that the French trained horses will have in a sprint finish, added to the fact the second horse has won over 3m already and has guaranteed stamina.

He'd know where to sit in the race, when to make his move etc. rather than just sit there and wait to find out the horse has no turn of foot or that the leaders have got away from him. If the horses race handy they'll have as good a chance as any IMO (given the success that NW has had with French-breds in the past back in the UK).
I find it hard to believe that the way Williams trains his horses that they are likely to be seen to best effect in what often develops into a 1m 7f hack and a 3f sprint - could be wrong as both are French-bred.
Have tried to find more about about the Pointing winner but not been able to and the bible isn't released until November so nothing on that front either.

I remember reading the quote where NW said this horse made him look forward to getting up in the morning and training. Plus when they sold a similar type to PN they knew they had one twice as good at home.

full of liars and morons is exactly why I awaited official confirmation (wasn't watching ATR at the time)
Not that I was calling you a liar or moron, but there have been numerous people turning up on here, posting one or two pieces of bullsh it and then bugger off.
fwiw i'm very disappointed at this news, thought he had a fairly big future
