i dont know, my guess is that he probably is. nick williams went down the world hurdle with diamond harry and switched to chasing late on account of being uncompetitive against big bucks. the only way reve would go hurdling id say is if nick williams considers him better than diamond harry which i doubt

love this horse! all guts! maybe not as eyecatching as diamond harry on the gallops at home id say. but id love to see him campaigned at the world hurdle as 3miles at cheltenham over hurdles would suit imo. completely unexposed over 3 miles and always looks like he'll stay forever.

More than halved in price for the Arkle from yesterday. Will win on Friday and have a MAJOR SHOUT in the Grade One Novice Chase that's within his realistic stamina bracket come March...30's still looking a top-up price, IMHO...

mr thriller cud b a big danger. he's won over cd beating a very useful mr henderdson century duty!!!

I thought Time For Rupert was impressive enough and has layed down a very good early marker for the RSA where he will surely improve for the trip.
Reve De Sivola folded very tamely even allowing for his mistake at the 3rd? last - had looked to jump and travel well up to then and the rain would have been in his favour too so not sure what to make of it?

i thought he was being slightly niggled for a fair way out myself...sure to improve for the run...he's an out and out stayer for me...the further the better

I was also surpsied how well Mr Thriller ran as well tbh.
Reve De Sivola just doesn't jump too well, be it hurdles or fences, he is always prone to a clanger which costs him ground in each race.

go for the world hurdle imo. has alot to do in the jumping stakes to reverse the form with time for rupert come march. let him get from one side of a hurdle to the other how he likes just like did all last season and the future will be bright! it makes sense. maybe give him another shot over fences but i dont see the horse being a natural myself.

I wasn't that disappointed with his debut chase run, he jumped reasonably well and was in contention 3 out and the jockey was only making a token effort when his chance had gone.

he was beaten when he clobered that fence. he rightly eased him off imo. no point beating up a beaten horse. timmy murphy take note. the horse was running over fences for the first time and the last thing that should happen is that he is made dislike the game

Has all important Cheltenham Festival in March and that was franked by Peddlers Cross in no uncertain terms even if Binocular wasn't at his best. I really like him and think his race is the new Grade 2 2miles 4 furlong novice chase but his trainer will already know his likely target. Looking forward to seeing him at Cheltenham in early December but has got some engine and stable now in full flow.

Paul Duffy, owner of Reve De Sivola, said: "He is relentless at the back end of his races but he will definitely come on for this as Nick's horses have been held up in the weather.
"We have always thought of himas a Gold Cup horse in the making but that will be next season as his target this time will be the new two and a half mile novice chase at the festival."

completely unconvinced with his jumping so far. you do not win rsa chases jumping like reve de sivola has in his 2 starts to date. you have to be impressed with the engine on the fella though. he had no right to win today but has bottomless stamina which proved enough. jumping needs to improve though that's a fact. still love ya though reve. race big bucks in the world hurdle!!

haha yeah. didnt do much schooling with him apparantly on account of the frozen ground or much on the gallops either. paul duffy is a bit of a dreamer but why not i suppose (dream that is)

Again let down by jumping at the weekend when grabbing a place when that looked highly unlikely turning for home. The success of Diamond Harry as a chaser surely means there is no need to try and make a top class chaser out of reve de sivola when he clearly doesnt have the jumping ability to get where connections are aiming. Use his stamina and run in the cleeve hurdle with a view to a pop at the world hurdle. Its a very, very weak division barring big bucks imo.

Nick Williams suffered even worse in the second big freeze and hardly got his horses out at all. This was so evident yesterday. Maljimar was tanking and one of the last on the bridle in the 3m handicap yet completely blew up tunring for home as did Reve. As n6 says, Reve's jumping was better then his first two starts and his lack of fitness now means we'll get a nice price on him in the jewson. Still a top class horse and Nick Williams will school the life out of him before the festival as he did with Diamond Harry before the Hennessey. Will win the Jewson staying on best up the hill. Mark my words.

A step up in trip from 2m5f to 3m1f wouldn't make a jott of difference to this horses jumping. 2m5f is still a stamina test for a Novice. I could understand your point if he were being campaigned over 2m but the fact is he is just that great at jumping fences or Hurdles.

Yes I know. He wins them inspite of his jumping imo. Clearly he is very talented and I wouldn't deny that.
Look at his run in the challow hurdle last year .. that was heavy ground over 20f .. would have seemed more like 3m but he still clatterered the hurdles. Im sure he'll improve with time but I dont think the difference between 2m5f and 3m would necessarily make much difference at this stage.

Im pretty sure the plan is to step him up to 3 miles next season and i dont see the problem with that, so if he improves his jumping which he is entitled to like any other novice he still has a lot of potential.

I tend to agree with many posters on here that Reve just doesnt look like his future lies over the bigger obstacles. He was a very solid but did benefit from the second novice year. Hope he comes on in either code but lots to do

I love this horse but agree with most posters on here that Reve is not a good jumper of fences.Lack of fitness does not account for poor jumping early in races and the way he stays on shows what a great engine he has. This year he has reminded me of Tidal Bay and I feel Reve would benefit from a return to hurdles or being dropped in class for a few easy wins otherwise he may get sickened or worse, injured trying to jump at speed against better jumpers.

i agree with the posters who are saying that the horse will probably improve his jumping as he goes along and also that this horse will certainly improve for the extra few furlongs is stepped up to 3m. but i still feel there are a few overriding factors to consider here:
1) connections are trying to go to the gold cup next season. can anyone name a horse in recent years who has jumped with such little fluency / style as a novice that has gone on to win a gold cup. examples of gold cup winners in recent years denman / kauto / imperial / best mate etc etc etc (they all jumped with great fluency from day one) reve de sivola imo is not going to reach the level required over fences to reach those heights.
2) connections do run the risk of souring the horse if he continues to find it so difficult to stay in touch during the highly competitive races he is running in.
3) in diamond harry connections already have a bonified gold cup contender as the era of denman / kauto / imperial will not be lasting much longer as age gets to any horse.
4) the world hurdle is won by horses with huge engines. reve is one of these horses and i honestly believe barring big bucks the division is simply poor.

Reve de Sivola is not good enough to win the RSA Chase. He does have a fairly decent engine but he cannot jump. Infact, he is worse at jumping that Iris's Gift was when he went chasing. If he gets round he will be staying on but he will be miles behind swinging for home. I would go back hurdling if I was I were the connections but he will then get mentally damaged again when Big Bucks gets hold of him lol

if big bucks wasnt in the world hurdle im sure reve would have run in the 3m hurdle division already. some day big bucks will have an off day and some yak will end up with a win in a prestigous race at the festival or in a g1. if i owned him id lob him in the races that bb runs in. as big ben says, diamond harry is a gold cup horse so instead of having two arguably with one lacking the class, why not have a gold cup horse and a world hurdle horse

I agree with the comment about sending him to the World Hurdle. I am a big Big Bucks fan and as much as I want Big Bucks's task to be easier for my financial benefit I don't mind Reve de Sivola running in the race, he is not good enough to challenge Big Bucks, he must improve at least 25lbs to do that. I like Diamond Harry but I backed him E/W for the RSA last year and he ran terrible, he started to look dodgy in hsi race before the RSA Chase too.

Revedesivola could not jump a trip wire wityhout hitting it so how the hell is he going to get round Cheltenham and win the RSA Chase lol. Time For Rupert is the RSA winner in my opinion, the strongest hurdle form in the book. The highest rated hurdler to go chasing this year.

Well, he ain't now, only because I told connections they would be stuffed out of sight if they did send him there. Can they please send him to Skegness beach. It's the best place for him lol

hes been unfit every time he ran and was lucky to win the one he did. all williams horses will be fit from this on so no excuses. poor fitness leads to poor jumping too

Revedesivola - what planet do you come from??? You might look like Pluto but I didn't realise you actually come from there. That horse was decent over hurdles but he cannot jump my TV stand alone a Cheltenham fence lol

never was the best of jumpers and thats to be expected considering hes a novice but his lack of fitness and schooling because of the weather makes it a lot worse than expected

Diamond Harry wasn't as bad as Reve De Sivola! Reve hits every fence, Diamond Harry has far more spring in his jumping. He just went wrong towards to later part of last season. Anyway, Diamond Harry is far more classier that Reve De Sivola. You are clutching at straws. If you prove me wrong and he wins at the festival I will pay you out of my own pocket with a FREE £20 bet at the starting price. P.S. That won't happen though will it you muppet!

was one of my favourite horses but after that display today I don't know what to say (other than thanks Betfair for being down as it saved me some dosh!!!)
he jumped well enough, he was just paceless between the fences...so unless something is wrong with him I don't see where you go with him from here. he's clearly not going to do anything at Cheltenham at any distance displaying that kind of form...and this from a horse that gave Peddlars Cross a great race!!

I have a feeling he is going to be a value bet in something after these performances as am sure the engine is still there. Surely, given that he is not the quickest and doesn't jump smartly, he was never going to go a stitch in a race like that against some very smart, speedy horses. Sandown could just be the least suitable track for him too as he is never in a rhythm between fences.
I wish they'd had a punt in the dark and at least put him in the 4-miler at Cheltenham. He's always looked an out-and-out stayer to me.

there is surely not a chance in hell they will run that in the X-country....it's jumping technique, if i can call it that, is just about the opposite of what that race requires
