But how people come on here and say they have a good 'un for the Arkle in September before we have seen anything jump is beyond me.

I'm not going mad tbh. Just think that he has the right sort of profile tbh. Stays further than 2 miles, still pretty young, top rated hurdler
As far as class horses go i'm not overly convinced there'll be too many this year for the Arkle. Get Me Out Of Here if going chasing, Mikael D'Haguenet if over his problems, Medermit the three that spring to mind immediately along with CH
Feet are firmly on the ground at the moment

if you gave ruby the choice of riding either celestial halo or sang bleu in the arkle and the race was in a months time i promise you he would choose sang bleu

Your 2nd post spot on FFT - it's early days and you do need to see them jump but Get Me Out Of Here looked a chaser last season and already looked like he was jumping fences anyway and agree with MD'H if he's recovered could be anything. You are right concentrating on the better class hurdlers although not sure Medermit has the guts to win this. Can't wait for the Sunday of the Cheltenham November meeting though and we get the first ones out!

Interesting comment to assign to Nicholls. He's either got a complete freak of a horse in his stables (to be better than Kauto Star, Denman, Master Minded etc) or he's not wearing his correct spectacles, and he's got them mixed up. I've never believed rumour when it comes to race-horses and I've still got money in my wallet.

You'll get used to dananders Wayward, hyperbole masquerading as FACT is his stock-in-trade. I read that Nicholls selected Sang Bleu as his prospect that he was most looking forward to campaigning this season.

Intresting Wayward with your view from jessies stable... she has a 3 good novices from last year if i can remember, i seen one battle on bravely to beat QE at leaporstown in January but there is also the one that finished 4th in the neptune

Obviously, the Arkle contenders have yet to jump a fence in public, but yes Big Bucks, SUMMIT MEETING (4th in the Neptune) was the subject of a market move from 33’s into 10’s in the week before the Festival and ran admirably considering preparation had been interrupted. The full brother of a Group 2 winner at 13f in France (and bought for just £17,000 in Oct08) there could be a huge amount of improvement in him to come. And, I believe, Mrs Harrington knows how to prepare a 2-mile chaser for the Festival.

I was thinking of Coole River aswell as he is a half brother to Dempsey who wasnt a bad sort, won his last 2 races well and seem to be put away for a novice chase campaign this year.
My friend has a horse with jessie il be sure to ask him next time I see him about the 2.

I think Captain Chris could make a hell of a chaser, but I'd want to see him handle a left-handed course a bit better than he did last time before i'd think about backing him for an Arkle

Yeah I hope it was just inexperience last time out at Cheltenham when he appeared to hang right quite violently. I think I heard he was going for a listed hurdle race at Kempton before going over fences.

Is Mikael to be aimed at this or the RSA? 25/1 would seem too big. Let's hope for some better communication from Willie this year
10/1 doesn't seem too appealing at the moment Is Mikael to be aimed at this or the RSA? 25/1 would seem too big. Let's hope for some better communication from Willie this year
I like Captain Chris, always going to be a chaser and didn't have a hard time over hurdles but still acheived a hurdles rating that arkle winners usually have to reach. Same trainer and owner as Menorah, the supreme novices winner, so hopefully they should have an idea where they stand ability wise!
