3m2f round Cheltenham,no thanks.Ryannair or QM if he is aimed at the meeting imo
Report Brownes Gazette would have won September 10, 2010 11:27 PM BST
I'll give you 33s lining up at Chelt in the Gold Cup. Would have to start on the Tuesday of the festival to get home first, and only then with a few rests along the way. Not a hope in hell of being good enough or getting the trip. Ryanair if anything at all and then any price you like come the day.
Report Far From Trouble September 10, 2010 11:57 PM BST
Might be a season too early for him really, but the way he stayed on at Cheltenham after making that mistake and relishing the step up at Aintree, I see no reason why the GC would be beyond him at some point. Many early career 2 milers have done well in Gold Cups.

Main problem for me is the horses at NJH's disposal. Think French Opera is the QM horse, Long Run Ryanair and Punchestowns Gold Cup. Burton Port looks tailor made for Aintree, Barber's Shop is a hound and Petit Robin isn't top class either

Interesting shout FFT, plenty of stamina in his breeding to suggest the trip would not be an issue. Horse has a very solid strike rate, will be interesting to see how he's campaigned.

Decent price considering the main protagonists are getting on a bit.

the biggest problem is MM legs, he doesnt take much racing.
Report Bobby Dazzler September 11, 2010 10:28 AM BST
Lovely horse, great ability - but has huge wind problems which is a bigger problem because of his size. For all his class I don't think he will ever get the trip.
Report buddeliea September 11, 2010 1:49 PM BST
Gut feeling is he will run at aintree, and not Cheltenham.
Report abbott September 11, 2010 8:23 PM BST
I rather see him in the Champion Chase
Report Albion Dan September 11, 2010 9:41 PM BST
me too abbott, backed him for it after aintree.
Report buddeliea September 12, 2010 10:56 AM BST
Thats where he should run if he is aimed at the festival imo.But beating Big Zeb will be bl00dy tough, especially for a horse that imo is not suited to Cheltenham.
Report abbott September 12, 2010 11:19 AM BST
He seemed to be suited by Cheltnehma untill he smacked that fence. I personally dont think Nicky will be aiming him at the Champion Chase this season so is a no bet at the moment but if they reroute him or change plans throughout the season I will be happy to back him at a shorter price.
Report Albion Dan September 12, 2010 11:27 AM BST
was only small stakes at 50s, will be the captains Love to lose if he lines up sound and doesnt burst a blood vessel imo
Report abbott September 12, 2010 11:34 AM BST
I hope he runs for you  bud as 50s will be massive on the day. Not sure about captin either to be honest. What I am sure if Masterminded is finished imo.
Report Albion Dan September 12, 2010 11:40 AM BST
Cheers. Will be interesting to see if MM's breathing op makes any difference. Im a big Sizing Europe fan, but think CCB has the beating of him if it wasnt for a couple of mishaps.  Send him there after a bit of a layoff and im sure he'll be fine ha.
Report dee cee September 12, 2010 8:09 PM BST
Non stayer no chance.
Report ftm September 12, 2010 9:57 PM BST
didnt harty say ccb wont travel over to chelt again?
agree with abbotts comment re masterminded
wont mad max be better suited to a flat track over 2m2,2.4m?

Thats what i think.I agree he did run well at chelt before smacking that fence, and its possible he could run well again there of course,if 2m.Further he goes there though and i feel the course would get the better of him.I just think that a course like Aintree suits him better, and to beat the likes of Big Zeb he will need have everything going for him.
Report ftm September 13, 2010 8:03 PM BST
agreed,word for word.
Report 3132 September 27, 2010 7:55 AM BST
Might need to re-word the thread....NH says he might go for the Paddy Power with the Ryanair as his long-term objective.
