will back and top up in play. he often drifts for the first few rounds in these type of fights. usyk hasn't impressed me at this weight and if it goes to the cards joshua will nick the closer rounds

Was surprised there wasn't more posts about this fight, given some of the hype I've read about it elsewhere.
![]() I've been massively impressed by Usyk in the past, at his initial weight band potentially a pound-for-pound candidate even in my eyes. But, I agree about him as a heavy - he's looked vulnerable against much lesser opponents than Joshua. Has to be a great bet at 1.5 IMO. |
By:
I'm not convinced AJ can take a real concussive whack especially since the Ruiz knock downs... I suspect he's not convinced either.. Usyk doesn't possess that in his locker but he is skilful and durable... I'm Not backing him at 1.5 and I cant lay him with a huge crowd behind him.. Looking forward to a good fight though...
|
By:
Skillful and durable but not with knockout power (at this level at least).
I can't see how Usyk wins this fight without a KO threat? There's even home advantage of sorts in favour for Joshua if it's points. |
By:
Usyk looked worried by Chisora's punches - imagine against Joshua's force.
|
By:
1/2 Joshua looks a gift. Though my list of short odds boxing losers is longer then the list of my winners.
|
By:
I had not looked at the Betting till this thought Josh would have been shorter ,I have not seen Usyk fight didn't know too much about him .
Hope its a decent bout . A loss would Cost Josh an Awful lot of money going forward .. |
By:
There needs to be a strong argument supporting Usyk to win this one on here to fully worry me as a 1.5 backer - not seen that yet (though this place is dead, lol).
|
By:
tobes - I know exactly what you mean (it's the short odds curse in boxing), but 1.5 is not exactly an extreme shortie either, is it?
|
By:
Usyk's southpaw stance, attempting to run rings round Joshua.. Can see this being a very awkward night for AJ.
Dont know AJ's form against lefties... |
By:
Some fair possible points for making it not straightforward, but still don't see that as Usyk winning - he can't run forever in this one, and might lose rounds doing that in any case.
|
By:
Just lumped on Joshua 1.57 on ***daq, wont be easy by ay means, but like others, i can just see him getting him at some stage and winning this. Can fully understand the bit of a price drift the last 24 hours and the positive for usyk with his pedigree, but just got tempted with the price..
|
By:
I've never rated Usyk, even Bellew gave him problem for a few rounds before blowing up and being picked off
Joshua should win this easily, and then its a 2 week wait to get it confirmed Vs Fury, when he finally finishes of Wilder once and for all |
By:
Usyk wont be able to take a shot that Joshua can deliver that is for sure, he'll be unsteady after 1 good hit in my opinion
|
By:
Joshua - "Do you know what I'm most looking forward to about this fight? Getting back to training ...
this is still training camp. Get this done, then IU get back into training.." Overconfident. Hubris. |
By:
Did Usyk ever rock Derek?
Never saw that fight. |
By:
He got a couple of good points where he wobbled Chisora slightly, but not sure he ever really looked like finishing him. Even if he had, Joshua is a guy who has been rocked by punchers like Whyte and Klitscho so not sure it would matter so much against Usyk - he wins some fights by stoppage but hardly very often.
The one time he was stopped by Ruiz was a one-off IMO. And that was facing a barrage of true heavyweight punches. |
By:
Usyk isn't a big puncher though
To be honest its a pointless fight |
By:
I think it will be similar to the Povetkin one.
Joshua may lose a few rounds at the start and drift. I've just done £100 @1.54 and probably leave it at that. |

What time is the fight scheduled to be?

Campbell Hatton just got his ears boxed off, and (perhaps not surprisingly) got the decision from the corrupt muppet ref. RIP British Boxing.
![]() |
By:
And Hearn has the gall to "call out" the corruption.
|
By:
Yup was 3s at the bell

By:
Think its time we just stopped watching to be honest
Utterly pathetic |
By:
I was thinking "surely they can't overturn such an obvious win for Martinez, and job him that badly?". But aat the same time I knew it was going to happen. They have no shame! Not even a flicker of embarrassment on the ref's face. No wonder Mrtinez was p!ssing himself laughing.

This bum that Okolie is up against has a record as padded as Donald trumps trousers. If Okolie can't knock him out, he has nowhere to go.
|
By:
Martinez will probably be thinking at least he got paid, but they have totally jumped the shark nowadays with the judges cards
Fury said similar when he said you could box their ears for 12 rounds and the judges will just not score half the punches if its an away fight And Hearn is the biggest piece of scum fixing bas*ard in the business |
By:
They think they are doing Hatton a favour, but the biggest favour they could do him is tell him to pack it in. He's useless and he will get seriously hurt if they continue with this farce.
|
By:
He's no like his dad is he
![]() Proves its not in the genes that's for sure |
By:
Can't believe this is £27
This stuff was £15 not long ago I thought. |
By:
Yeah they are hiking all the time tobes , was saying yesterday wont be long before its 49.99
|
By:
Go the distance a big price tonight imo. Joshua won't go looking for the KO imo unless he's clearly well down on the cards and needs it to win, too much at stake otherwise, and Usyk no proven power at heavy.
|
By:
Okolie still finding tomato cans to put away, despite supposedly being "ready to dominate the division". LMFAO. Put him in with Apochi or Glanton and we'll see what he's made of.
|
By:
Started of at a tenner didn't it? I ain't paying even that for this dross, its a 3.99 at best
People paying £27+ for this proves there's more idiots out there than first thought |
By:
Anyone paying 25 quid for this needs their head looked at.

WBO mandatories are rarely in the top 20 in the world at the weight.

Easy to hide behind then.
