in small fights you make a case for home decisions, but in big fights you generally get better judges who are better paid and less dodgy, though obv it does happen, but if he's up on all of the cards then he's up, maybe you'd be intimidated but don't think the judges would be lol

If the judges view is no good - why have judge since time began always been ringside and not judged the fight on TV, esp as TV has become more advanced so show numerous angles.

Judging has been terrible in countless big fights, a judge gave GGG 2 rounds vs Canelo....

Having them watch on TV is a good idea but they just sit where they were always sat before  TV existed.

Often judged are picked by a promoter. There was one who was doing small hall fights and Eddie gave him a shot at glory on the world title scene. And he duly gave Burns that fight against a guy that practically killed him.

that's the one I already reference above, it does happen, you do get rogue judges, but sometimes you have to accept that they've seen angles we haven't at home - we're shown whatever angle tv decides to show

judges in big fights are often agreed on both sides like tonight, dodgier decisions more expected in smaller fights.

Bellew made the very best of the ability he had (and it was a respectable level, imo). It was a very well managed career

That is true when it's just a total stitch up job like that, but tonight's judges will have been neutral for sure, and won't have actually been on the take.

The judges here aren't the absolute worst, but they aren't good either. AJ vs Klitschko another one that most had Klitschko at time of stoppage, all judges had AJ ahead.

Roy Jones lost at Olympics which was actually proven fixed. And was total fixed just from watching it as other guy barely lands a punch.

GGG and Floyd also robbed at OG

even Loma was robbed in amateurs. and that was his only loss. lol

Why would people want to slag bellew off , i dont get it he was a good fighter and gave it his all in most fights , was a brave fighter and never  ducked a challenge

looking back, Bellew's best hope was to go into "go for broke" mode in round 3 when Usyk looked slightly vulnerable and hope he caught him with one of his big slugging punches

Usyk would have always known that his tank was far bigger than Bellew's and as soon as he slowed down it would be easy. Bellew did cause him some trouble in early rounds, and during that moment he should have tried to back him into a corner for the last 45 seconds and unleashed

Lots of British fighters have had dodgy draws or decisions in their favour in recent years. You don't have to try hard to find them. Two of them were on the Card tonight

Usyk never really looked that vulnerable, not like Bellew actually wobbled him.

Amateurs is definitely corrupt to the core - it's always been at it's worst at the Olympics though.

Also Usyk's engine is amazing, as seen in his last few fights, he wont like all the latter rounds in those too.

He will, like all of the big Sky names end up commentary after retiring.

Froch openly says he doesn't even watch boxing, yet still is always on commentary.

that's how him and loma methodically destruct their opponents. they just can't compete at such speed and gas out in the end.

Go for broke rarely ever actually works though. Vs anyone skilled, you just wave the storm and let them gas themselves out which they will if they are actually going for broken. And it's much easier said than done anyway unless you are up against a plodder or someone totally gassed just standing there, as not like they will just stand there to be hit.

Bellew has been one of Sky's top 4 pundits for 18 months now. The only ones he hasn't pundited on were his own fights. You can look forward to 30+ years of his voice

I agree. Still think it was Bellew's best chance of winning. Usyk was on the backfoot in those early rounds. Bellew was looking fresh. Should have cornered him and towards the end of a round gone into crazy mode and tried to hurt him. Even a glancing blow to the top of the head would have done damage. The sort of thing Dillian Whyte did to Joe Parker, roughed him up

I've never heard Bellew commentate, what was his last 2-3 fights he commentated on ?

so therefore he stopped it, and it goes down as a KO. if Coldwell had got into the ring with the towel, it would have been a TKO.

Bellew clearly wasn't going to win another round yer. He was just on the back foot throwing single punches last few rounds, like impossible to win rounds doing that unless other guy is doing nothing too.

Knockout (KO) is when the boxer does not stand up after a 10 count.
Technical knockout (TKO) is the 3 knockdown rule or if the referee steps in to stop the fight

totally disagree with that. GGG v Canelo 1 and GGG v Canelo 2 obvious examples of crooked judging in the biggest fights in recent times

so if a ref jumps into to stop a fight when someones getting chinned on the ropes but wont drop they pay out a tko

does it make a big difference to your profit or something bob? you only go into this serious bob mode on such occasions

GGG V Canelo 1 - there was a case for 2 of the judges being right - but that other judge who I believe has not worked since was easily bent.

I don't think the judging in GGG v Canelo 2 was bad, everyone pretty much agreed it was 50/50 and going into the last round said GGG had to go for it to win

but in all the big fights I've ever seen, in most cases the right decision was made

the first GGG was robbery for me, I had GGG winning, the 2nd fight I had a draw

I tend to think the majority of the judges decisions go with fighter in big fights to the big name or which fighter gonna generate most money in the future which tends to be the established big name

Usyk hes 1 classy boxer,and 1 classy guy.

Impressed by Usyk he is accurate, doesn't waste energy and seems very controlled in what he does. It'll be interesting to see what he does at heavy weight.  I can see him becoming a big favourite with British Boxing fans.
