Mayweather's ability to take a punch with his amazing hand speed leaves Conor Mc Gouger in a position where he'll have to resort to a move thats illegal in every walk of life. How is this muppet getting paid to box.

His flawless record is on paper only and doesn't really mean anything when it comes to his legacy or where his placed amongst the greats, he has never fought a single Top fighter in their prime, you don't measure the quality of an opponent by quantity of wins because by that logic, he's no greater than Calzaghe, it's by the quality of boxer they've beat, Fraud Mayweather says he is greater than Ali, who on Mayweather's CV was of the same calibre, albeit in their own respective weight class, as the level of oppoenents Ali beat on his? Mayweather thinks he's greater because he never lost a fight, it's easy to never lose a fight when you delay them for 6 years and get one when their injured a la  Pacquiao, Ali as a 32 year old beat an 40 fight undefeated George forman at the age of 25 who had beat Norton and Frazier in 2 of his last 3 fights, that defines greatness. It is fair to say however that nobody has come close to beaten him, can even disregard the first Castillo fight as he was injured and showed the gulf in class in the rematch. This is a big risk for Mayweather and that makes him beatable, people keep drawing attention to McGregor's flaws but Mayweather has them too, his 40 years old against a 27 year old in his prime, he hasn't fought for 2 years, he has in the past albeit momentarily, been troubled by southpaw boxers of which McGreogor is one, and in all likliness, is facing the most unorthodoxed fight he'll ever come across, there's no doubt should Conor get the chance, he will be pulling off any illegal move he can, Ward does it and gets away with it.

Oh come on, Floyd fought loads of top fighters in their prime. Like all his big fights in the early 2000s were vs top fighters in their prime like Gatti, Castillo, Corrales. Hatton was in his prime when Floyd beat him too.

Pacquiao was just as much to blame for the fight vs Floyd not happening earlier, if not more. Not once did you really see Pacquiao chasing it, Arum wouldn't let him go near Floyd in his prime, because Pacquiao was his money spinner and this is why so many of Pacquiao's fights were in house vs other Arum fighters. Putting him in with Mayweather in his prime was way too risky from Arum's point of view. In reality Pacquiao always struggled with Floyd's style of fighters too.

This being a big risk for Mayweather is laughable. Floyd is getting paid ridiculous money to take on a non-boxer ffs. It's pretty much the opposite of a risk. He pads his record to 50-0 which he clearly wants for ego, and gets paid an insane sum to take on somebody who has no chance ffs.

Conor looked awful in those sparring videos. His punches are wide and slow, the gulf in class is huge.

Next we will have people betting on Golden State Warriors to beat Real Madrid at football.

Grant I wont be watching the fight, I'm getting up at 5am for no man. I will however be watching it back if it's said to be worth it.

n88uk, Pacquiao fought Mayweather with a damaged shoulder.

This is in regards to Floyd's so called legacy, and you can't seriously look at the list of boxers he has fought and when he has fought them and how he has fought them, and call him one of the greatest, he was comparing himself to Ali, Ali fought elite fighters at their physical and mental peak, reaction times slow as you get older  especially as a boxer in your 30's.

Gatti was not an elite boxer, I wouldn't even call him a boxer, 'fighter' would probably be a more apt description, and Mayweather fought him past his best aged 32, you could argue 32 can be prime age but not with his style, he was an old 32, when I say top boxer I mean 'Elite' and in their prime. He made a good job of looking like a warrior type fighter, all blood and guts, be he sacrifice technique, movement and defence to do so a lot of the time even though, I compare his style to a gambler chasing his losses, all in everyime he's on the backfoot, that style took serious punishment in the years before the Mayweather fight and he gave it up to actually try to out box Floyd and looked liked an absolute amatuer.

Those other boxers, Castillo, Hatton and Corrales were not elite boxers either.

As said before, in the first Castillo fight Mayweather had an injury to his shoulder, again another fighter whose 'warrior like battles' seem to blur the lines between a great fighter and a great boxer, I wouldn't even put him in the Hall of Fame let alone a great boxer. Hatton's best wins were not against elite fighters either.

Mayweather has been lucky in his era and his time management, picking fighters at the right time, coupled with his own defensive style and you have a winning machine.

I hope you don't give me 'they were belt holders', that means almost nothing in today's era, so many average boxers have held belts.

Cleverly and Jack looks decent fight and backed Jack Ko like some folk on the other thread but can't see much attractive on the other fights tonight.

Mayweather is a techical and defensive genius.

But he never beat any Elite legendary boxers the way Ali did and can never be compared imo.

n88 the original point was me talking about Fraud comparing himself to Ali, Mayweather would have to go back in time and to fight real elite fighters and even then, Fraud being Fraud would duck them at their best, but in his own era, the best fighters that he did face were either injured, past their best, or glorified club boxers who don't understand boxing, Gatti being the perfect example, McGirt tried to get him to Box and by doing so, took away his biggest strength.

This is why I give credit to Chris Eubank, he freely admitted in a round-the-table interview with other boxers that he ducked the best American fighters at the time because he didn't want to fight them in their prime
