I suppose. but if you compare the knockdowns, DeGale snap knocked down Jack in R1, no damage. Jack put DeGale firmly on his back in round 12, looked far more brutal.

DeGale got lucky imo although no one can deny his heart, I thought he was ready to go a few times but he just kept finding something. His flashy combination slaps mostly landed on Jack's gloves but looked good as scoring shots. Jack looked absolutely huge in there more like a light heavyweight. For once I don't think DeGale gassed I just think he was hurt many times by a very underrated puncher. The right hand to the body especially looked an absolute rib cruncher. I don't think DeGale had Jack in trouble once even the knockdown was a flash one. The state of both boxers faces said everything about the difference in punching power between them.
No way DeGale wants a rematch he showed tremendous courage but he can't take that punishment again. He better hope Jack can't make Super Middle again. I even wonder if he'll recover mentally from such a tough fight. Respect to both boxers for a fantastic effort. |
