lol shame on you .why didn't he take his sock off in the ring and say he had a bad toe thats the usual excuse. but seriously its a shame that a great fighter couldn't take it on the chin and admit it wasn't his night and the other guy fought better.
Seen this fight and got to say Manny is a disgrace.
Not only due to the excuse but the post fight comments....when asked about the fight didn't have the decency to give credit where credit was due and just admit Floyd schooled him and made him look average on the night.
Over 2.5,you said a long time ago Cotto was a favourite boxer....Floyd foght the guy at his weight and schooled him ..beat him up.
You stated Floyd would never fight Manny...the fight happened when a fear of needles cleared up ...
You even stated Alvarez would beat Floyd...
I think it is time you came out the woodwork and admitted he is the best of his generation by a long long way...not many can go to Cottos weight and defeat him the way Floyd did.
I like Manny but he had told so many he would win he was a tad embarrassed and couldn't make enough excuses up,boxers judged on comments and now Manny goes alongside David Haye as one of those who just could not accept things.
Hail Money Mayweather

Agreed about Manny. Take the Hearns approach of no excuses when he broke his hand against Hagler. Don't rate Mayweather quite as highly as you because being honest less than 2.5 brain cells does have a very small point. Mayweather has chosen his career path and it hasn't been of the test myself against the very best variety. It has been of the chose my moment or take away the other guys advantages. That's smart and has made him phenomenally rich but his legacy will suffer for it. He may not care about that when he's spending his money though.

Fought Diego Corrales (unbeaten champ) in prime. Cotto (undefeated at 154) won easily. Marquez many said over the hill when he failed to win 2 rounds...turns out he knocks out pacman a couple of years later... Fought Canelo giving upto 20 pounds away and absolutely schooled the guy.
Now I do take the point on hand picking so far but his legacy will only suffer on those who aint fans of the guy,for me he has fought everyone ...the pacman argument can role on for years the truth is no1 in this forum knows exactly why it didn't happen earlier.
I am of the mindset this guy would have schooled duran ...the old Michigan defence coupled with the fantastic punch avoidance reactions make him impossible to tie down for long periods.
He is blessed with his reach granted but the old cherrypicking is looking very very lame now....
No1 else to fight at 147....which is his weight...not 154...147.
Yeah.I will say this tho...Fought Diego Corrales (unbeaten champ) in prime.Cotto (undefeated at 154) won easily.Marquez many said over the hill when he failed to win 2 rounds...turns out he knocks out pacman a couple of years later...Fought Canelo g
That's the problem with Floyd though. Fair play he wasn't to know how good or otherwise Corrales was. He turned out to be good but not great. Cotto is still a good fighter but I can't be the only person who thinks he wasn't the same after that dirty bastaard Margarito had finished with him. Marquez like Corrales a good fighter. He really shouldn't have made Canelo drop weight. He would still have beat him but it gives the haters a stick with which to beat him.

Lets be honest and straight here Floyd fights at 147......
Canelo 154.......160 easy...
Asking Floyd to fight a massive 154 guy probably going into the ring at 170 just isnt on...
Floyd went up 5 pounds and canelo lost 2....the biggest jump was Floyds...
Why should Floyd jump 7 when canelo needed the fight more, they agreed to a compromise which both camps were happy with,if the fight was made at 147 v canelo I am completely with you bro....the fact is they compromised and canelo didnt win 1 round....
I will say this tho and will say it honestly,Castillo in the first fight was a veery very very close call and I scored it to them both after watching it a few times.
Find me 1 fighter at the same weight you can say the same for...1 questionable decision...unbeaten and never touched down...I find it remarkable duran gets a mention tbh with the fights he lost.
I dont agree.Lets be honest and straight here Floyd fights at 147......Canelo 154.......160 easy...Asking Floyd to fight a massive 154 guy probably going into the ring at 170 just isnt on...Floyd went up 5 pounds and canelo lost 2....the biggest jump
Manny Pacquiao is the subject of a lawsuit in Nevada after being accused of lying over a shoulder injury sustained before his fight against Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas.
The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) says Pacquiao, 36, did not declare the injury on a pre-fight questionnaire.
But the fighter says he was transparent and a treatment plan had been agreed.
Two people in Nevada have alleged the boxer defrauded ticket buyers, television viewers and gamblers.
They have opened lawsuits just hours after the NAC accused the fighter of being dishonest. If the Filipino is found guilty of that charge, the penalty for perjury could be a jail sentence of between one and four years, and a fine of up to $5,000 (£3,305).
Pacquiao blamed his points defeat on the injury - claiming it stopped him using his right hand - but a joint statement released by Team Pacquiao and his promoters Top Rank said the United States Anti-Doping Agency (Usada) had been notified during the fighter's training camp and on fight night.
They added that a Usada doctor sanctioned the use of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory on fight night, but the NAC did not allow it to be administered because they were "unaware" of the shoulder injury.
The statement added: "This was disappointing since Team Pacquiao had disclosed the injury and treatment to Usada, who approved the treatments and Manny had listed the medication on his pre-fight medical form."
The NAC says the Pacquiao camp were not "obligated" to disclose the injury, but their executive director Bob Bennett said: "It's not just the fact he didn't fill out the question completely, it's that he wasn't honest.
"Two hours before the fight they wanted a shot that's a painkiller, in essence. That put us in a very precarious position."
The form Pacquiao signed asked if he had "any injuries to his shoulders, elbows, or hands that needed evaluation or examination".
The legal disclaimer states that the signatory "swears, under penalty of perjury, that the above information is true and correct".
Surgeon Neal ElAttrache told ESPN the fighter has a "significant tear" in his rotator cuff and added the injury was likely to sideline him for between nine and 12 months.
Mayweather, 38, scored a unanimous points victory in the four-belt unification bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the win extending the American's unbeaten record as a professional to 48 fights.
Pacquiao's surgery means any rematch is unlikely, with Mayweather insisting he will retire in September after one more fight.

I thought he was so scared of needles (original reason for not agreeing to blood tests) that it left him drained and would affect his training or somesuch nonsense? I wouldn't say it all smells fishy at all.........

Sorry. I'm not buying it. Dangle enough money in front of people and they'll say all sorts. Mayweather said one more fight in September and that's it. Suddenly he's prepared to wait till next year for Manny's "injury" to heal to give him the rematch. If they can convince enough gullible mugs that Manny wasn't outclassed and really was the victim then they just might sell the fight. Not to me though.
