comes across better in that video but he has been pretty awful in the ring since the Groves fight...I don't think he's good enough personally but would be nice if he could get in the mix.

I don't get it. Everyone seems to thing he's rubbish. When I watch him I watch a pretty complete looking boxer. No one will agree but I see him and will back him to beat anyone at super-mid except Ward. I'd have defo lumped on if he were to box Froch and I thought that before Froch fought Groves. He's a slick southpaw who can switch, throw fast combinations and is cute defensively. I predict in 18 months he'll be in with someone like GGG and have a good chance.

Agree completely builders. These aren't tomato cans at world level, if you have the skills, providing someone can't walk through you, you'll be okay. Ward is showing this.
Clearing up the injury will be a big plus as well, He'll have learned a lot since Groves(a fight I thought he won)and I'd be surprised if he doesn't win a version of the world title. Likely Bika's WBC.

First saw him fight Glenn Catley in the ABA finals. 92 I think. The following year against Darren Dorrington.[Darren had a chin like granite and still took three standing counts] So I knew how good and how hard he hit well before he turned pro. Remember all his career, amateur and pro he suffered with bad hands. Anyone who could drop Eubank even if he was cold could hit. I agree you don't have to be a big puncher. For me a good chin is a far more important.

Oh yeah in the early days I think he carried a fair dig but for most of his career he just threw fast, light flurries due to his hands getting worse but was still no.1.

I thought he won the Groves fight on the night ,GROVES was clever on the night tbf but didn,t do enough himself imo to win ,Degale been far to much of a show off tonight imo , a good pro should just get on with the job , he beat a nobody and struggled to do that , was hoping for more from him tbh and will need to raise his game big time if he ever gets in with Groves again

lol de gales gone backwards since that fight due to his arrogance whereas groves (who at the time didnt have so much arrogance) has gone forward.. even with theses abc titles de gales will never be a world title unless hes spoon fed it
