Anyone had a bet on this yet?
Looks like the value has gone completely. Ive had a good go on Haye KO at 9/4 but best price 13/8 now with same company. Also backed Haye outright at 1/2 to cover myself - in a round about fashion, don't normally hedge or do 'covers'.

Kept it simple so far fight not to go distance 6-5
Report alabaster crashes down July 9, 2012 6:04 PM BST
Strongly feel both of saturday's big fights are mismatches.

Already got the haye ko and khan ko covered in a treble.

Also had a reasonable double haye/khan rds 1-6.

Probably going to perm Haye/Khan rounds 1-3 to tiny stakes too.

I could be wrong but from the preview shows it just doesn't look like Chisora is taking the fight seriously to me, wouldn't suprise me at all if he looks in bad nick on the night. He's already massively up against it on the form book so would be madness if he isn't trained to perfection but who knows what goes on in that head.

Agree think Garcia is in way over his head. Khan KO for me as well, as a bit of rnds 1-6

Had a good think about the heavyweight clash last night. Think Haye's key punch will be the lunging/ reaching lead right straight down the middle. Chisora will of course try to cancel out Haye's work by getting in close as much as possible. There's no way Haye and Booth aren't going to be prepared for Chisora's come forward/ get close strategy. Whether that be punch and run or hold often on the inside. Can just see Chisora getting picked off with single straight shots all night long. Possibly forcing a cornet stoppage as Chisora's face swells badly.

The 4/1 on offer for a Haye stoppage in rounds 7-12 looks pretty decent at this stage as I can't see the Hayemaker charging in for the kill early when Chisora will be dangerous.

A lot of it is about inteligence for me. Haye has the ability to change strategy throughout the fight if need be. Chisora is mad enough to do something daft and can't see him bringing anything to the party we haven't seen from him before.

As many have said before - cracking fight just a shame what events have lead to the fight.
Report carlos monzon July 10, 2012 1:12 PM BST
Yes that's bang on, haye will be going for the lunging straight right through the middle but I'm expecting chisora to make haye miss with quite a few of them with the peek a boo defence he usedto great effect v vitali. Of course hate is much faster, but lovly motion from chisora wen slipping the right just like Frazier. Of course not as quick or good but still a good tactic which might see him land a good left hook.

Good summary Smido. Only thing I will add is that only a idiot wouldnt get prepared for Chisora's "style". The big negative though is the Haye camp have never believed in roadwork hence why he blows out of his backside after six. This is the only thing what would put me off backing Haye. No roadwork for me is just plain stupid, obviously you've also got to worry if his toes hold up Wink

Vitali I'd say no. Fury I'm certain he does, Helenius probably not. But has I've always said with Haye it s the shot you dont see what KO'S you or drops you much like Manny's power.
If we go into the 2nd half of the fight saturday and Haye hasnt casued big damage I think he's in trouble
Report alabaster crashes down July 10, 2012 8:33 PM BST
haye cant punch

Not sure how you've come to that conclusion? Perhaps it's the 85% ko ratio? Or the way he put Ruiz on his arse with the first punch of the fight? Or the way he had Valuev doing the chicken dance in round 12?

Fair enough the concussive one punch ko power might not be there at heavyweight but he can certainly still punch. They'll certainly be faster punches than Helenius, Fury and old man Vitali threw.

Half the problem with Haye at heavyweight has been his caution and reluctance to get hit by the real big lumps like Valuev and Wlad...I just don't see that Del Boy has the power to keep him in his shell. Chisora to be dropped multiple times for a tko type stoppage for me.
Report smido25 July 10, 2012 10:06 PM BST
Some cracking debate here lads. Plenty of for and against. Can't see Chisora being knocked down if honest and don't really buy this stamina argument with Haye. The one and only time he gassed in my book was way back against Mr Thompson in 2004.
Like Pairs' point about Haye out to make a point and repair reputation. This isn't the end result for Haye and wouldn't come out of 'retirement' just for Del Boy.
Report scamboogah July 10, 2012 10:21 PM BST
Does Haye still have doubts about his stamina? He never seems to fight at a high tempo. He was very reluctant for 2 rounds against Fraudley until he realised there was no danger, was happy to cruise against Ruiz and Valuev, never tried to get Klitschko out of his rythem. Is he a genuine Heavy ? His record flatters to deceive - Ruiz was past it, Barret a small heavy oft beaten, Farudley (say no more), Valuez a slow, limited, plodding 312 lb lump. As highlighted above, Chisora has stood up to the elder Klitschko and Fury for 12 rounds when overweight by almost 2 stone, He will probably weigh in fit at 240 lbs to Hayes 217. If Haye doesn't go to work on him early and inflict some damage, Chisora may well be the man getting stronger as this wears on. I don't see much value in Haye.

Report berrers July 11, 2012 3:00 PM BST
good debate here. Feel Haye will have to much class for Chisora and if he gets in and out with his shots without letting chisora steam roller into him up close all the time he could have the big man down within 7.

Even though Haye had a poor showing v klits he went the full 12 rounds against the supposed best in the world so there cant really be to much doubts on his stamina if you are thinking of this before possibly punting on Haye if this does going into the later rounds.

One things for sure haye will certainly be better conditioned than Chisora who could barely stand towards the end of his slug fest v fury
Report sj July 11, 2012 3:31 PM BST
I would like to take issue there. Haye may look better but this aint a weight lifting contest Chisora has greater stamina than Haye cos he actually does roadwork. There is no way Haye would of survived the Klitschko Chisora pace.
Watch the Ruiz fight to see Haye's stamina issues
Report Jimmy Diamond July 11, 2012 7:27 PM BST
I personally think Haye is too short based on what we have seen. Sure he's the better skilled fighter and deserves to be favourite but when Chisora gets his act together he can really give people problems, i.e Vitali, Helenius....... That was Vitali's hardest test for years and even though he's getting on a bit he wasnt comfortable in there at any point during the whole 12 rounds.

If Del Boy can bring that again i can see him giving Haye plenty of problems especially if the fight goes long. Booth better have a strategy for keeping Derek off because he's going to be coming all night. So how will Chisora stad up to Haye's punches, that is unknown for me as he looks to have a solid chin but he's not been in with a speedster like Haye before.

Out of all the bets for this fight id say the 'not to go distance' looks best at 11/10.

Tempted to give them another call and try to argue the case for my treble. 5/4 now if that's bigger than they were before they realised it was 10 rounds you'd think I'd have a case. I took 7/4 in good faith last week...getting narked now there's f all value left anywhere.

SportingBet seem to be completely oblivious to the issue still offering 12 round markets... obviously no chance of them paying out on grouped rounds 1-6 now though.

Pete Mcneeley has a 66% ko percentage, lets look at the facts he has Ruiz on his arse in the first as the speed clearly troubled ruiz but it was the towel that brought an end to the fight not the hayemaker.

Valuev lets have this right captain caveman wasnt a good fighter Haye hit him and he wobbled no biggie. still the moster punch doesnt stop someone.

So wheres the evidence he can hurt chiosra ?
Report alabaster crashes down July 13, 2012 6:08 PM BST
I've already said I'm not convinced he has the one punch ko power at heavyweight..that doesn't mean he can't hurt Chisora...the same speed that troubled Ruiz will catch Del Boy off guard too. As for Valuev, not many others have wobbled him have they? Haye can punch, madness to say he can't imo. Whether or not Chisora can take those punches is where you pay your money and take your choice innit?
Report smido25 July 13, 2012 7:47 PM BST
Speed will kill Chisora. Absolutely convinced of it. Haye will pepper Chisora with single shots and bash Chisora's face up. I've had a small go on Haye to win by retired opponent at 20/1. The key to the fight is what happens on the inside - Haye will hope very little, Chisora will look to do the bulk of his work and damage on the inside. How will Haye and Booth deal with it? I'm interested to find out.
Report sj July 13, 2012 7:57 PM BST

One of the lads off there had his Haye inside the distance bets voided when the fight was changed to a 10 rounder, as many of us on here did. Anyway he took it to IBAS and they found in his favour and he's just been paid out. Probably too late now but worth noting for future reference. Bet was with Boyles in his case.
