Is there a successful galileo steeple chaser around ? I know a few offspring have tried. Top irish trainer wont buy one for chasing saying they cant jump
Like his dad then. Sadlers Wells geldings were good hurdlers but very few jumped a fence. Aga Khan breds are another case in point. More to do with the mares than the sires I expect as Galileo, S Wells and any Aga Khan horses would all be bred for the flat.

Well, I'll be slightly tendentious here and state that in my view the flat offloads have more trouble breathing than jumping. One of his sons transmits that even more along with ability. Consequently in deep Irish winter ground they may struggle and few on the flat relish it very soft. However, in UK winners over fences, Iniesta, New Millenium, Cropley and better but placed only so far Stamp your Feet and Winter Lion. I can see that for the price of a Galileo chaser it is unlikely to be economically sensible compared with many other sires but some can jump.

He only ran 21 times in five years,seemed to have his problems.Timeform described him as a ''fairly useful h'cap chaser''.
