Sadler's Wells

Year (Gr 1 wins)
1988 (2)
1989 (3)
1990 (8)
1991 (2)
1992 (5)
1993 (9)
1994 (3)
1995 (3)
1996 (3)
1997 (7)
1998 (7)
1999 (5)
2000 (8)
2001 (10)
2002 (9)
2003 (5)
2004 (6)
2005 (2)
2006 (4)
2007 (4)
2008 (4)
2009 (3)

The above does not give the "crop" year i.e. the year of birth.
The above is wins, not winners.

He started in 1988 with the 2yos Scenic and Prince Of Dance dead-heating in the Dewhurst (both born in 1986).
Also born in 1986 were Group 1 winners In The Wings, Batshoof, Old Vic, but they won as 3yo and 4yo.

He ended in 2009 with **** winning the Ascot Gold Cup, and Ask winning the Coronation Cup and Prix Royal-Oak.
His first 2yos were in 1988.
On 13 May 2008 Coolmore announced that Sadler's Wells was retiring from breeding due to declining fertility.

I have 26 Sadler's Wells offspring in my data with year of birth 2008, indicating his last coverings were in 2007 (foals 2008).

Saddlers Rock (b 2008) won the Group 2 Doncaster Cup and Goodwood Cup.
Bullt Train (b 2007) won the Gr 3 Lingfield Derby Trial
7 winners (b 2006) bu the best was the Gr 2 Dante and Prix de Pomone.

The last Group 1 winner i have is Listen (b. 2005), Fillies Mile, Ascot.
I have none with DOB 2004, 9 Gr 1 race wins from 5 horses with DOB 2003, 1 Gr 1 win from a horse with DOB 2002 (Playful Act, Fillies Mile, Ascot)
Only 1 Gr 1 winner with DOB 1997, Beat Hollow, Grand Prix de Paris.
The first "failure to have a Gr 1 winner" year,  was horses born in 2004.
Sadler's Wells was born in 1981, so in 2003 he was covering at the age of 22.

Sadler's Wells had Group 1 winners 22 years in a row.
You might find a sire with a short stud career that had a Gr 1 winner from every crop.

Sea the stars is almost there - can't find a 2012 born (several 2nd in Grp1s).  Still pretty phenomenal although I'd argue the mega-sires nowadays (eg. Frankel) will manage this due to the quality/number of coverings
