Casamento fillies for brood mares

Right now after winning those races the fillies are worth c.15-30k each.   December time retired or HIT unless they have done very well (90+) or very regressive I'd guess at 12-20k as potential broodmares (I'm guessing they are ok looking from the relatively high - for casamentos - yearling prices, family's are ok).  The Cassie one's sister (rated 60-odd) sold in Feb for 26k and your's is worth at least that I'd say.


Depends how progressive but its not unheard of nowadays that fillies like this can have a racing future on the aw/dirt somewhere hot - be it Qatar . saudi or even better racing in US.  In which case value could be good bit higher.  GL

Well not been on here for a bit had a holiday abroad then a long spell in hospital,not had any runners bought into a gelding 2 y o by Muckadram and a 2 y o colt by Lawman Made Of Honour is at my ocal track Doncaster and if it was good or even good to soft I genuinely think she would be a good thing.but it’s not so my bet is to be cut in half remember she was second to Benbatle last yearKevin Ryan’s horse murdered my Rey Loopy at Newcastle when I was on big,She rates the danger,don’t miss my Cassie next Tuesday,also my 3y o eluding by bated breath on same day,he’s one to watch for another day ,I’ll be in Benidorm on Tuesday so won’t be able to comment good or bad ,but in brief a fifty pound double  M O H and Cassie on Tuesday could net you 1,5 k plus,thank me next week

Withdrawn due to the going found out just before the second race,so watched the second race and then left the track as the track is not wheel chair friendly so if I don’t need to be on a track then I very rarely will be.Any way all moneys returned and we live to fight another day,She May be out at Wetherby on Saturday but strongly suspect the going to be soft to heavy there as well,suspect she will be back on the all weather for her next run

Both ran in the same race at Wetherby and both ran poorly hoping the ground was a bit sticky for them as I thought both should of had a excellent chance

Communique an important winner for Casamento today.

I thought Castle Hill Cassie was going to win at York on Saturday 30/06/18 thought the win might have put a little bit of value on her as a broodmare ,she really does need to come fast and late to be seen to best effect she must have been 3 or 4 lengths clear 3 furlongs out and got collared with 50 yards to go to say I was livid is an understatement. Did any one see the race and if so do you think I am being unreasonable,the instructions were challenge for the lead at around a furlong out

I haven't seen the race and to a point jockey instructions are irrelevant.  Listen to after race interviews and you will get as many 'it wasn't our intention to lead' as you will get the jockey followed our instructions to the tee. i would take the view that your horse ran a great race and be happy, to be livid is an emotion you can well do without. Always try and see the positive.

On a separate note I always enjoy your posts and follow your horses. Did u buy into the nathaniel filly ? I have had a very little interest in a few horses but find the training fees/rewards difficult to justify.

I actually only own 30% the other 11.25% is in the Casamento filly Made Of Honour who is with Karl Burk and has won 4 times.Any estimates on what Cassie could make at Auction,though I believe the plan is to race as a five year old

Don't see the upside myself - there is surely a sell clause in the syndicate. You have the inside track to the fillies ability but as an observer I'd be surpriseed if she's a 100 plus horse likely to the win more multiple black type.  She got a decent speed pedigree and might interest buyers to take for easier mile stakes races in US or even middle east.  Yeomanstown will be the biggest beneficiaries with their Camacho prob - I don't know what she looks like but I'd have guess at 80-110k right now.

Her value Doncaster Rover is certainly dependant on what happens next.

I wouldn't want her to be running around dropping her handicap rating and being unplaced regularly.

The safe thing to do would be wrap her up until the Dec Sales and then I guess she'd make top end of yer ma's estimate, maybe a bit more if she's a beauty.

If she can enhance her rating and get a bit more black type to put on the page then she could go up in value.

If she runs around in handicaps being slightly disappointing then she is bottom end yer ma.

I am guessing you want more fun with her, but there are risks involved.

Very well done though, these are nice problems to have!

Like to keep you informed as you have been kind enough to follow this post,well though I am a little sad to report this I’m also quite pleased to.CASTLE HILL CASSIE has been sold for a substantial sum far bigger than I could have imagined she is to go to a stud farm in France I do not have any more information on which one as yet as i do not know which one as yet but will let you know when I know ,perhaps some of you may be able to give me some feedback on it,as for sure I won’t know of it.Cassie has had all sorts of tests via two different Vets and passed with flying colours .Yesterday the deal was completed and signed for,so she is now officially sold.I am sure she will get the best of treatment in France and will look forward to following her offspring while ever I can

Sorry just a quick update for Cassie I got it wrong re France she is actually sold to David Redvers and will continue to race under his name or maybe he has a buyer for her then she will go to his Tweethills stud in a Gloucester in March

CastleHill Cassie in a group 3 race at Doncaster tomorrow friday 14/9/18 16/1 at present but she doesent know she’s an outsider,it’s never stopped her before.Obviously I don’t own her now so I will have mixed feelings for her tomorrow but I am still having a small bet on her.the 3 new owners who ar not Arabic as far as I’m tolddeserve to do well with her,they have paid big money for her and I do mean big.I have bought into a Requinto colt. and a No Nay Never Filly.Have banked plenty for a rainy day and paid a years fees fo the two new yearlings,,happy days,this games not easy and expensive esp for me as I can’t work and am not old enough to claim my Stat Pensionbeen very lucky with some good bets for instance I got stuck into Buckman Tavern 33/1 into 6/1 overnight at Carlisle yesterday happy days indeed,now where’s that sales catalogue?

Made Of Honour is to be mated not sure of the chosen sire but will keep you informed,As far as I know Castle Hill Cassie is still an intended runner in the Fillies and Mares final,after visiting Zoustar.Im hoping to persuade other owners in M O H  to send her to Zoustar think he is good value at £20,000 ( I think that’s the price ).Has any one any thoughts on Zoustar.The syndicate managers are thinking of a budget of £7000 but I would sooner chip in and go to 20k we have 7k in the kitty from her last win.any knowledgeable person any thoughts on a budget stallion.M O H is by Casamento out of Bonne and is at Karl Burke’s yard in Middleham.thanks for taking the time to read my posts

Re the sale of Castle Hill Cassie I reinvested in a Dandy man filly with A Watson and a filly by No Nay Never And  a colt by Relkino both with Karl Burke al are now 2 year olds.I would have gone in on one with Ben Haslam ( instead of Dandy Man filly ) But the syndicate didn’t have any thing with him,I felt like I was disloyal to Ben by not going in with him but if there is nothing there what can you do?

Think he's 25k. Can see where the other owners are coming from. You'll need to put the following years stud fees in before you get to race if you're lucky and it's a 2 year old. If you're going at 25k you'll have a fair bit laid out with other fees and bills. That being said if you are looking to sell the progeny the  he would need fair enough.

I wouldn't look further than Mayson to start Made of Honour off as a broodmare.

Casamento/Namid/Reprimand mares should go well to him and you know what you ought to get, he even keeps the Northern link going.

I would consider Raven's Pass and Elusive City if travel was allowed, also Oasis Dream line sires though the affordable ones are a bit unproven.

Twilight Son and Bated Breath show up but I think are not great value, then some cheap locals would be Pastoral Pursuits and Monsiour Bond if you're not planning on selling.

Lancaster Bomber and Tasleet as first season gambles?

Obviously a lot would depend on her type and the plans (racing on?) and for the offspring (selling or racing).

Once you know she's fertile and the foals have 4 legs etc then you could be more adventurous with her IMO and Zoustar would then be interesting.

out the gates and castle hill cassie had cover on the inside, it looked ominous for the leader after 1 furlong.

Made Of Honour Made the long trek down to Lingfield last night she is fit and well and is going well at home only four runners and plenty of 7/2 about its a trippy race but I believe she is much better than an 80 rated filly and will pounce late to win it had a huge win off Castle Hill Cassie on Monday and have invested some of the winnings on M O H though not as much as was on Cassie I’ve no intention of giving back all my profits in one hit.So a win bet today but not for big stakes £225 will clear a grand which is useful for Cheltenham which is looming up fast.for those having a bet today on M O H good luck your on a definite trier take 7/2 She surely can’t go any bigger in a four horse race

made of honour is more than likely better than her current rating, the problem is happy escape and treasure me are definitely better than their current ratings, M O H has achieved better top speeds, which i hope

Very strange this race only four runners and doesent appear to be a bean for any of them I hope something kicks on early so M O H has something to aim at she is likely to be mated soon but I still haven’t heard of which sire is to be used,if I had my way she’d go to Zoustar but he’s booked up also they won’t go to 25 k or so I’m told.im going to Tim Easterbys on Sat 15th Feb and Richard Fahys the day after so I may find something out while up there

can never be certain a horse will come on for a run after a 3 month break, did have a 3lb pull at the weights with made of honour.

like the idea of Shamardal line mares i.e Casamento as easy to breed to almost anything. HGrey makes sense with the Karl Burke connection.

Small update on three of my new horses ( shares of ) Requinto colt seems to be progressing we now named Blue Baron ,No Nay Never fillie appears to be going exceptionally well she looks a picture,and has been named Never In Paris,My Free Eagle is doing OK but can’t tell you much more as the updates are not as forthcoming with this one but I can say he is called Prince Of Eagles.he is with David Lanigan.the Archie Watson Filly by Dandy Man is as yet unnamed but appears to be going well,she is likely to be my first runner out of these four maybe in May,my other 3 Made Of Honour as I said earlier is waiting to be mated to Havana Grey and a decision on her future will be made at a later date with a sale in foal a strong favourite at present.Mardle well he isn’t in my opinion any great shakes but e did win at 40/1 last year so I can’t complain thank goodness fo B O G .He could win again this season but I personally would be reluctant to go in on him again,for sure I dodged a bullet when I took 14/1 him when he won at Newcastle.And last but least and I don’t mean by no means,there is Jailbreak 3 y/o colt ,can’t understand for the life of me why they haven’t gelded.him he’s ran twice ,why not 3 times I ask myself every day,he’s with Richard Hugh’s and will be rated around 50 to 55 when they elect to run him again that is,looks like this horse could well be the third best hose I’ve ever bought into second was First Breath to describe him as being poor is being very kind ,bought back in by Ben Haslam for I think about £4000 ,that’s one of life’s great mysteries to me as Ben is a terrific judge of a horse normally but hey ho you pay your money you pay your choice.and the very worst was a yearling I. Bought as my first ever purchase he developed into a fabulous looking two year old and ran tree times the best position I beieve was second.                 to last.he was trained by Kevin Ryan and  the Syndicate company have never placed one with him since that one and only placing,though I’m not for one minute saying that the horses performance was any bearing on this decision I have of course have no information regarding these matter I am merely a syndicate member.The horse by the way was called Backinanger a fantastic name but a rubbish horse,he was found a fabulous and inspected forever home and the last I heard he was in rude health and I genuinely wish him and his owner a long and happy life together

Well roadrunner Racing is all about opinions and for sure if all races were decided on the form book there would not be any racing.I have put my money where my mouth is and ok I may end up with egg on my face,but I feel she will do them on the line as the race will be run to suit her no one will put me off her,I’m even travelling 225 miles each way to be there to shout her home and that’s a big deal for me with my health problems

you not going to end up with egg on your face, whatever happens, of course the form doesnt always workout,
there are a couple of horses that are lightly raced in the race that have achieved a bit more already,
you have a proven track record of backing your horses and being successful. enjoy the day out, thats

Made Of Honour mated with Havana grey last week as with Castle Hill Cassie I will let you know when or if ( I no longer have any share of Cassie ) I know if the mating is successful.on another note I had a very successful weekends punting netting 2 trixies so I bought my first ever share in a established horse 4 year old colt rated 100 plus will let you know more later as at the moment it’s only a shake of the hand in the owners bar at Doncaster on Sunday but confident the deal will be signed and paid this week

Well it’s sqeaky bum week for my Anti post bets including trixies and trebles with Lincoln and national winners for Castle Hill Cassie who I named and owned 30% off I fancyher big style and still some 10/1 about.waiting for the final declarations to be made I think on Wednesday I’m going to have some serious bragging rights on her or will skulk off into a corner with the proverbial egg on my face but I’m on big style and I’m very confident.Ben Haslam is in fantastic form at present and Cassie is now with a very high profile owner with David Redvers Ben needs a high profile result and I’m very confident he will get it

10/1 gone with P P and sportsbook only Biylsports at 10/1 now she’s more or less 7/1 and for A P betting I think that’s about right,we just need her to turn up now as she’s entered in the A W mile and the Snowdrop Listed race at Kempton on Saturday

It’s been announced on twitter that this is her most likely target nothing official as yet but hopefully a step nearer to her getting her chance to be crowned champion

Castle Hill Cassie has been declared and is drawn 11 of twelve which I dont like and the jockey booking has always been down as Graham Lee who I think rides her brilliantly but it’s now Andrew Mullen whom never does me any favours in his races backed my old horse that I sold my share of Rey Loopy the last twice for good money both times beat in a photo coming from last to second each Tim and leading on the next stride.oh well both these things are out of my hands ,so it’s just to say good luck to Ben Haslam and his team and to A Mullen let’s hope he gets her home in front

Well Castle Hill Cassie ran no race at all she ran unbelievably flat and as I said in an earlier post I ended up with the proverbial egg on my face it’s a hard game this horse racing.If it’s any small consolation to any one who backed her my winnings would have totalled just over 135K from my mainly spring doubles trixie antipost bets it’s a little be of ease from the win double part ,but my bidding on a 2 year old colt from the Doncaster breeze ups has to be put on hold for another year.If I’m still here that is.Thank You For all who have followed these posts and to any one who hasn’t been put off by my ramblings if you are interested I will reward you with a winner on Tuesday  I will post it when I can as I’m in Hospital for my monthly treatment and the internet won’t let you log into betting sites ,very confident this will win

All the best DR - if you can't brush off an honest tip that doesn't come in, then you shouldn't be betting.  She seems a real hold up filly to me and its wasn't a race for that even if she'd run to form.

Yes the Gold Cup is his target an alternative is a American race worth 150 k to the winner but yes the gold cup is the target he needs to find a bit but hoping the extras 4 furlongs will help him improve of course it could hinder him but we won’t know untill we try 40/1 e W may look good on the day

Very happy with Raymond Tusk if he can keep on mopping up place prize money,he is a great horse to part own the plan is the Ascot Gold Cup,and possibly a try at the Irish St Ledger,Raymond Tusk is the highest rated horse I have been involved in at 111 the lowest of the 8 I am involved in on a rating of 53 is Jailbreak he runs in the 5/35 at Wolverhampton tomorrow21/05/19 I fully expect him to win this despite a poor draw I was hoping for 8/1 but instead he is at best halve those odds but My philosophy is a winner is a winner. My money is on at 9/2 4/1 and 7/2 go on my son get I really need this in the back of the net

Made Of Honour missed with Havana Grey despit 3 matings she was sold as barren in the sales ring for 11000 guns,don’t know who bought her but would love to know so I can follow her progress.my luck seems to have deserted me this year only 3 wins so far two from Marie’s Diamond who pulled up when going well yesterday but thankfully he is ok ,he took a false step when going over the crossover path and lost his action.Never In Paris who ran seventh in the Newbury super sprint is lame but is expected to be ok in 3 or 4 months.Purple Knight my Requinto colt who is a full brother to Mojito can’t stop growing so cant make his debut yet,my 2 y/o colt Prince Of Eagles had a slight mishap on the gallops so has had 4 months on box rest and is now on the walker,hopefully my best horse Raymond Tusk runs well in the Ebor he is a definite runner,
