Godolphin buying fillies sired by Coolmore stallions and vice versa!
So has there been some 'behind closed doors' talks and a thawing of relations? Or have both sides realised they need better outcrosses for their pre-eminent stallion lines?
Is the new Godolphin policy a result of the new team buying at the sales, replacing the old one?
Or a combination of all three-and more!?

I thinks its extremely welcome, and exciting for the breed frankly!

Dubawi + Galileo mares= Coolmore beating the snot out of everyone would be the thought process. He has very little Northern Dancer in him as everybody knows.
I guess that is the key for Coolmore neill. They've got so many Galileo mares that they need an outcross-their attempts to find their own seems to have faltered somewhat.
For Godolphin though, they just need to get back to the Northern Dancer bloodline that made them so successful in the first place? Not using Galileo or Coolmore stallions to the outside observer like me seems incredible especially since money is not a limiting factor.

It would make sound sense to send Galileo mares to Dubawi. I wonder what Magnier thinks?
Brutally honest, you can send Galileo mares anywhere, Dubawi is getting a great opportunity here!
I checked my database for horses with Galileo and Dubawi in the 1st and 2nd generations.
That would make one the sire and the other the broodmare sire or vice versa.
I was surprised at two things (1) the small size of the result (2) the high ratings.
I can't (yet) see why these two sires would combine well.

Big Black Cat, Coolmore have so many mares that are in-bred to Northern Dancer that they desperately need a top outcross sire like Dubawi. They have tried with Fastnet Rok, and now they are heavily depending upon War Front. Darley do NOT have many ND in-bred mares, imo.
Agree totally zygote-Coolmore need that outcross as badly as Godolphin need the Galileo blood they have shunned so long.
