Marseille (Excelebration ex Marlinka) won a decent 5F maiden at Newcastle today, on her 3 yo debut after previously being placed there as a two year old.
Marseille is a half sister to the Group one winning sprinter MARSHA (Prix de l'Abbaye), and the very useful winning sprint handicapper JUDICIAL.
The dam, MARLINKA (MARJU-BARALINKA) was a listed winning sprinter as a 2 yo, and was out of a BARATHEA half sister to both SOVIET SONG (5 x G1 winning Miler), SISTER ACT (dam of G1 winner RIBBONS), and AFFINITY (dam of the useful ZEST)
This is Elites very best family all descending from the SOVIET STAR foundation mare KALINKA.
We are truly blessed! One of the best families in the business indeed!

MARSEILLE has a two year old half brother MAGISTRATE (by CAPE CROSS) in training with James Fanshawe. He hasn't done much yet but what he has done has been done very easily.
MARSEILLE runs at Doncaster tomorrow (7.25).
Nothing so unusual about that, except I was intrigued to see the RP describe her siblings MARSHA (OR 116, G1 winner) and JUDICIAL (OR 107) as 'useful'!
Will be interesting to see how she handles the ground as the aforementioned pair like to hear their hooves rattle.

i fancy marseille will be a mid 80s-90 horse by the end of the season, wonder if she's fit enough to get the ball rolling tomorrow.
Chance of a double today BBC? I have small bets on Marseille and Zest just in case.
I should think so sageform. I have had a small each way double. Both have pretty obvious each way chances. Both horses are well (and trying :-) )
Yes-very much not knocked about and needs 6F I would say.
BBC- if you didn't have a share in the horse i would have called that a non jigger.
I don't have a share but there's a fine line between being a non jigger, and being looked after for a long season ahead. I can assure you the advice we were given was that she would come on for the run. She's slightly more stoutly bred than MARSHA and JUDICIAL so 6F would seem to be more suitable.
yes needed the run and looked after would have been more polite, better price nto hopefully 
I can honestly say, after 15 plus years as a member, We've never had a non jigger that I am aware of.
We've certainly had horses who maybe weren't expected to win. Name me an 'owner' who hasn't?

i would fancy her quite strongly tonight but i'm worried about that low draw in stall 2, even with just 11 runners.
