Has this ever happened before? Rare to get 3 of the same sire in one race, let alone finish first 3.

Sure someone will tell me it's happened lots of times though.

And Sharpo had a 1,2,3 in a race at The Curragh years ago.
I'd guess Sadler's Wells has had a 1,2,3 in a classic.

I seem to remember reading in one of those old bbr annuals that Luthier was the first sire in Europe to sire 1-2-3 in a group race. That would have been mid 70's

Is it the 1976 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud?

1) Riverqueen by Luthier ex Riverside by Shesnoon
2) Ashmore by Luthier ex Almyre by Wild Risk
3) Tip Moss by Luthier ex Top Twig by High Perch

Yes, thanks Kincsem. He was very influential in France. Wildenstein had success with him. His daughters produced the likes of Fijar Tango, Lost World, Muncie, Luth Enchantee, Michelozzo, Miss Tahiti......and of course he sired Sagace.
