Has this ever happened before? Rare to get 3 of the same sire in one race, let alone finish first 3.

Sure someone will tell me it's happened lots of times though.

I'd guess Sadler's Wells has had a 1,2,3 in a classic.

I seem to remember reading in one of those old bbr annuals that Luthier was the first sire in Europe to sire 1-2-3 in a group race. That would have been mid 70's

Yes, thanks Kincsem. He was very influential in France. Wildenstein had success with him. His daughters produced the likes of Fijar Tango, Lost World, Muncie, Luth Enchantee, Michelozzo, Miss Tahiti......and of course he sired Sagace.
