Or 650k for Ladys First. Have to wonder why on earth you'd cover and not sell a half decent (and this filly is no more than that) race filly. The gap between the 'super stock' and also rans widens further. Hope you did well PotM, bit of a struggle here but it was predictable.

750k for 1537 was a bit expensive I would think, I know the cover is worth 100k but she herself was a poor racehorse, again shows the value of going first season

I was there yesterday. It's been on my 'bucket list' for a while to see a horse sell for over a million so I headed up to Tatts to see it happen. The tension leading up to her appearance was palpable; it was notable how the usual mutter and chatter in the packed sale room went utterly quiet as she came in and even the auctioneer conducted the sale in a hushed tone compared to the lots either side of her.
Definitely worth experiencing for anyone interested but not regularly involved in breeding/bloodstock sales.

Yer ma, I had noticed that you had a 100% problem with your lots and I suspect you noticed that I had 50% of the same problem with mine. Although I got away with it I was slightly disappointed as I thought I had a game changer on my hands and it turned out I had to settle for just 'profitable'.
I hope very much that you can reverse that particular problem next spring as it is so incredibly galling to just be 'surviving' when all around seem to be (erroneously of course) getting rich.
Have you had a dabble this week atall or were you just licking wounds? Did you at least stop by and view some stallions?
