Offered a nicely bred 14 year old mare, won 5 times with some black type place form, has produced 1 winner from 4 or 5 off springs, a few still to run, nice scopey mare 16/2. Not in foal this year, no vices I'm told, is she a bit long in the tooth to breed from ? As she's kind of chancy price wise ! I'm testing d waters so to speak !
Bucko it appears to me that there might be a bit of a back story here. What does long in the tooth mean?
Does she have health or reproduction problems, as there is no problem breeding from a 14 year old per se?
One winner is not spectacular but I doubt anyone would say yeah or nay on here without looking at a pedigree or being able to assess her record in light of the chances she has had and the physical picture she paints.

No reason not to but you need to plan for the future. You run the risk of being stuck with her with less chance/time to benefit from any upturn in her career in a commercial sense. If you are looking to keep any offspring then that is a completely different project.

Thanks Guys, long in the tooth meant "old" PM, her only winner was retired due to injury, and she has 3 that have yet to race, yearling 2 year old and 3 year old,
